Hello,
this is my first thread and i hope you can help me.

I want to upgrade my Matrix HD7970-3GD5 firmware to 1.1 or 1.2 ...on ASUS Homep...there is only a .exe file that doesn`t run on all my systems.
I know that problem from an older ASUS g-card...so i used atiwinflash ...runs fine....
But here is my problem: I can`t find any .bin file for my card only the M7970flash.exe...that doesn`t run...

Anyone who knows where i can download the file ?

Hmmm doesn`t work....

Invalid bios file...mcu.bin 16kb (seems that i need the full bios file...)
I think the mcu file is only a part of the bios.
But thank you for the help....

won't matter. The update in question updates something other than GPU BIOS, it updates the firmware for the hardware voltage controller. That's why the file size is so small, and why using Winflash is rather useless.

That said, this update only affects votlage performance when the GPU is in LN2 mode (fan-speed full activated), and I can't actually say it made any difference with my card.

Thanks to all...

I solved the problem.....became the bios file from a friend...done it with atiflash under dos prompt....
And now i can use the ASUS file update to stable votlage performance when the GPU is in LN2 mode.

My friend had the same problem....two different bios files in crossfire configuration...he read out the newer file with gpu-z...and flashed the newer one over the old.
