Ok so I have been building my own computers since my first build in 98. I have run into my fair share of issues especially when I used DFI lanparty boards but I have always been able to figure it out. Now im stumped. I upgraded the proc in my server and am using the old i3 3120 to build a server for my dads business. got a h61 micro atx mobo 2x4gb gskill ripjaw ddr3 1600 on newegg 2 months ago. just getting around to the build now. everything seems fine running an old antec neo 500w modular psu. But here is the kicker I had issues getting this to post with the original dvd drive I was using so I used a spare. I put whs11 on it as opposed to server 2012 on it fine. took out the dvd drive as its not needed so there is only 1 thing hooked up. now I have tried to add a second hdd and it wont post. i want to back up the os on a second drive i don't need the space as the primary drive is 6tb. I have since taken every extra drive I have to test. ive tested 7 drives now and I wont post. I disconnect the power to the second drive and it boots fine. all the drives are fully functioning. I am leaning o the psu is in some way bad. I don't know its weird. ive tried every power connector including using Molex to sata power converter no luck in every configuration no post. has anyone ever experienced anything remotely similar. I need some other ideas to test out. ty
