It seems after Ubisoft pissed off many gamers with their unoptimized games in 2014, and it's continuing to do so in the 2015.

Well Ubisoft started 2015 with removing copies of Far Cry 4 bought From third parties such as G2Play and G2A but even many eBay users have also reported loss of access to Far Cry 4.

For more details click the link below:
http://www.game-debate.com/news/?ne...Copies Of Far Cry 4 Bought From Third Parties

It seems Ubisoft will continue to "Keep on Digging" in the year of 2015.

IDK, reading the article, I get the impression it is simply UBI looking out for its own interests. Illicitly gained copies of the game shouldn't be playable. People really shouldn't be so gullible. Unless a MAJOR, reputable etailer has a game on sale for cheap, it probably is too good to be true. You can't get something for nothing.

o jeeze.. maybe they should have made the game playable with a 270-760 on a 1080p monitor without dropping res before they did this

edit - was thinking unity. heard fc has some better optimization

That just means people will pirate it instead, or not buy it altogether because they can happily buy 3rd party keys for Steam or Origin. G2A are extremely well known, and sponsor an awful lot of video-gaming online personalities. They aren't exactly looked at as a dodgy Chinese etailer, they're arguably the largest and most well known to streamers and youtubers.
Perhaps they should address their game pricing, then people wouldn't feel the need to find the game cheaper elsewhere.

?? I'm confused. I have NEVER understood the concept of pirating just because something has to be purchased. Things in this world cost money. period. You buy what you can afford, and save for what you can't afford now. Just basic principles of life I thought.

I pay for my games, but the world of internet people is an extremely fickle place. If somebody bought a CD key from CJS or G2A, and then had their game revoked from UPlay, I sincerely doubt they will buy it again from Ubisoft.

EDIT: Hell, there are people that will pirate a game for no real reason at all, who would never have bought it, or even bother playing it.

I got the fancy version with all the extras in a Steam sale, so I won't be facing this problem.

It's the usual thing of if it seems too good to be true it usually is.

@RCoon, @qubit: YES, my point exactly is if it's too good to be true, it probably is. If G2A REGULARLY has this game cheap, and it's not just a SALE, then people should wise up. It's not legit, because obviously there is not enough money for the publisher to get their cut and to then give the developer their cut. Obviously, if a major triple-A game is regularly at "last year indy game prices", then it should be obvious to anyone that the only one making money is the etailer. Therefore, it's too good to be true.

I like supporting game developers and happily pay for a game that will give me hours of enjoyment. I doubt being able to torrent crack games and movies will last much longer. I have a friend with comcast that got a warning in the mail for torrenting movies.. basically it said if you do it again your getting a big fine.

It does make me wonder how on earth batches of keys get "stolen", or whether it's just a key distributor takes some money on the side and passes them through the grey market. Distributors need to make an active effort to maintain control of the distribution lines.
I think the people who generate the keys should be fined for losing them in such a fashion. Then maybe they'd invest in keeping the system secure and this problem would never be here.

The only other way these keys are obtained is buy purchasing games with fake/stolen credit cards en masse, and not much can be done about that.

I pay for my games too. Granted I pay very little because I wait a couple of years and pick up most AAA titles for $10 sometimes $20 on a big Steam/Origin sale. A rep for Ubisoft was quoted as saying that 93% of PC gamers are pirates. For all I know that could be accurate but Ubisoft looks at that as lost sales. I believe the vast majority of those pirating are living in countries where the standard of living is low compared to the West and they couldn't buy the games if they wanted to. Some pirates can afford to pay for their games but they don't because they can get them for free. I used to work with a guy like that and he bragged about getting all of his games, movies and music for free. Hell, he even had bootleg copies of movies before they were even released at the theater.

My take on Ubisoft is they don't have much respect for PC gamers because of the pirating and I think this causes them to not care so much about the quality on some of the PC ports.

My only issue is they allocate so many keys to etailers for distribution and the model is the etailer pays for keys as they get sold, so really if Steam decides to sell a key for $10 and pay the difference to Ubi why should the end user get involved at all. If I woudn't download a car, well in this case if I bought the printable plans for a F1 and only paid $50 for it, should they come repo the car that I already paid for, or should they go after the digital dealership? In the real world they go after the dealership, so this is companies trying to have it with the best of both worlds, and that isn't how life works.

I hope they get sued.

That figure could be correct, but things to consider:
A) there is no 100% accurate way to measure exactly how many people have pirated a title
B) a percentage of those pirates would never have bought the game anyway
C) some crazy people actually buy the game but pirate it anyway (this is a tiny percentage of people, probably <1%)

^ This + I want to add to this region restrictions, later release date per country and sometimes it's just easier to pirate something than find a legitimate way to buy it. Just the other day I was looking to buy Richard burns rally locally since I cannot find my dvd and no shops had it. Torrent sites on the other hand...

A) Agreed. I wonder how one can arrive at any sort of figure that's even in the right ballpark, because by its nature, a pirate copy isn't audited?
B) I think this is the lion's share of "pirates" imho which is why cracking down on piracy doesn't result in a proportionate increase in sales. If anything, piracy helps market penetration of the product, which is worth a lot to any company
C) Most games don't have a trial version any more, so people are expected to pony up good money on a gamble that they would like it. I don't blame them for trying before they buy and the only way to do this is to pirate it

I suspect Ubisoft has a database of keys and they know which keys were allotted to which service. G2Play and G2A likely violated Ubisoft's terms and revoked their license to sell and keys they sold. I'm sure the contract stipulates that G2Play/G2A is responsible for reimbursements should the contract be terminated by Ubisoft.

Someone should reimburst the gamers that bought the game from G2A, either them or Ubisoft (but probably G2A). I read some of you classified G2A as a site that sells illegal keys which is just not true. If they would not be legitimate I am 100% sure jackfrags would not use G2A.

While pirating is wrong, it depends where you live and under the circumstances you live in. If you make 260 euros a month it would be kind of hard to buy a 60 euro game after living expenses (I'm looking at you GTA V). :)

Call me Crazy. I bought Skyrim, and the Collector's Book, and the Anthology. But before I bought the anthology, I got annoyed at having to start Steam to play Skyrim, so I obtained it elsewhere. I've got every game they've put out, in at least one form, and most 2-3 times (4 copies of Morrowind including an X-box). I consider myself having well paid that bill, and I don't want to fool with DRM. So, I paid my money, and I'll play the game the way I want to. In a sandbox on the hill behind my house, if I want, damn it: I paid for it.
