Looks interesting/promising... Plan on keeping eye on them to see what develops.

He looks to be picking up where "My Opera" died off. The Vivaldi.net looks to be like that community; they have email, blog, and forum.

I like the coloured tabs idea! Since there won't be aero in Windows 10, this makes the browser more vibrant and less dull.
Font rendering and launch speed can be improved. Also I'd love tabs above or below the location bar option. (like in firefox)

**I closed all windows except settings, then closed it too. Now when I open Vivaldi all it shows me is the settings window.

Yeah, I noticed that settings window closure bug too, although it's already been submitted

You can put the tabs bar above or below the main screen though, similar to Chrome tabs.

Quite laggy and slow on my old AMD rig at work... meanwhile Opera 28 just flies, a bit too hasty for TP IMHO.

Yeah, I think another alternative is nice. I like the Metro/Modern look. But there's no reason to use it if it is just another Chrome-based browser.
Some people simply don't like Google or Chrome. They switched to Firefox when Opera switched from Presto to Blink. (talking about people I know here)
