Intel Chipset installation problems .

Hi , i did a fresh install of Windows 7 ( x64 ) and everything went fine . Now , i noticed this error on a P67 motherboard and on this C206 one after i ran CCleaner and rebooted the machine .

I don't know what that AsusSetup is trying to run again , at every reboot . It happens only with the latest Intel Chipset drivers , 9.3.0 , i guess . I can do a clean install , alright , but then i won't be able to run CCleaner again . I get the same error if i run Disk Cleanup .

are you using the disk that came with the motherboard?

by the way use system restore, go back to before you did the cc cleaning

Yes , it has the latest drivers , but i also got that error with the latest drivers from Asus' website . I don't like system restore , i'll do a fresh install . I know how to fix this problem , but i don't know if removing it from Task Scheduler won't affect my machine . I got the same error for a couple of days before my Sabertooth died .

not sure what exactly what its worth but i hold off from using cc for at least a few weeks after a os install. windows takes a little time to get running at its best.. prefetching, defrag, updates and all that stuff.

I ran the CCleaner after i installed my software , games , updates , etc . I've never had problems with CCleaner and not with the previous Intel Chipset drivers . This version is buggy .

oh ... i have the same error tho i don't care since it's so insignificant and appear only at boot ... so i didn't bothered to investigate a bit more on it ...

1st Log.iniis name is phony .ini i would understand and try to find the root but ... iniis ... well don't care that much, as all the rest works perfectly fine (ofc it's a annoying pop up at every boot but ... nah not a bother)
2nd i didn't ran CCleaner, altho i suspected it was when i changed my local to Chinese (well i need it for Blade and Soul ) from Japanese (well i need it for Kritika JP server) and English (well i need it ... wait ... nope it's the original local of my 7 )
3rd .... aherm ... no 3rd sorry

little precision i do use CCleaner but i didn't since a while (when nothing seems borked : then nothing need a fix)

I found out that registry cleaners can ruin your OS, it makes it worse most of the times.
I run windows 8.1 now and it has automatic maintenance, which works well.
I did not even use a registry cleaner on windows 7 anymore.

i have seen people talking about registry cleaners like your doing open heart surgery with a 50/50 shot. a lot of stuff excluding what is gone from the registry will be back pretty fast if your doing all the same things.
i guess one could argue if cc and similar really have a worth.

I didn't touched registry . I never do . i only ran cleaner to get rid of the temp and junk files . Nero Platinum 10 leaves 3 Gb or more of junk files behind . I've never had a problem with CCleaner , as stated before . It's something in the Task Scheduler > Asus > AsusSetup.exe . I don't know why that task was created and what it does .

only if you do ... use the registry cleaner option and the OP clearly state he used the cleaner (temp/cache/trash and suche)

and CC registry option always give you a pop up to back up the registry (just in case) unless you de activated the confirmation iirc
