Hmm, I see most people hitting over the 9000marks with 3dmark 05??

:wtf: How id that possible?
I only get 6768 tops, settings at optimal performance.
And I'm using CCC ati overdrive, core @621 and mem @786

Btw, I run 3dmark non pro (the one you have to wait a few seconds before it starts)

I thought I had such a good card, is there something wrong with my card?

Ok, I may not have the same system spec they use, but 9000 with 6768 is a huge difference:confused:

From my experience, Overdrive loosens memory timings and actually decreases memory performance. Also keep in mind that a portion of your 3DM score is CPU based. What CPU do you have, and what are your other system specs?

honestly to me that sounds like a good score..lol.. is that video card supposed to compete with the 8800 series or something? if not, i'd say you fall right into the normal range..

my guess would be that your processor is what is causing the low score

edit: when i pop your specs into the orb on futuremark's site i get scores ranging from 5800 to 6800, so it seems your score is at the high end of that range, the processor is definately what is causing it as removing the processor restriction, or just raising it, gives much higher scores

Well IMO that PSU isn't helping things. The box my card came in says "450w with 30A on the 12v rail".

But I don't have any problems with gaming, its just with 3d mark scores, Im seeing reviews of the card that I have and they all have higher scores then mine, not that I'm very dissapointed or so, but still I'm wondering why someone can get 9000 to 10000 marks with 3dmark05:twitch:
:wtf:

It's your cpu without a doubt. Get a good motherboard, and a Core 2 Duo processor and you'll see a massive difference. Also, although the psu isn't causing you problems at the moment, you'd do well to change it before it blows and takes the rest of your components with it ;)

fsp makes very very good power supplies.

i would take that 300w power supply over a generic 450w anyday

the only way the power supply would be causing lower scores is if the card was lowing it's clocks because of lack of power, which i doubt is happening

They may be a reputable make, but its still 300w. So even if ALL that wattage was for the 12v rail it could only supply 25A Max. But of course, that wattage also has to supply 3.3v, 5v, 5vsb, etc. so the 12v output will be much lower than 25A.

Well i got this gizmo that mesure power drain from 220V(europe) and my rig in full load(playing COD2 @ max 1280*1024) is 245W....so for the moment i say this PSU still got some life in it.

the specs on it are dual 12v rails, one a 8a and the other at 14a, so 22a total

assuming he only has one optical drive and one hard drive it is entirely possible to run an x1950pro on that power supply without problems, i wouldn't want to do it for an extended amount of time, but it certainly isn't causing the problem right now

my system only pulled 265w from the wall when i had my x1950pro(under full load measured with a Kill-A-Watt)

Check out Sapphire's forums for the number of problems with that series of cards resolved by getting a decent PSU. No way would I attempt to run one with 12v1 of 8A, but to each there own I suppose. My Enermax 535w with dual 18A rails only just runs it, but falls over with any attempt to clock it, hence the VGA booster in my sig.

assuming he only has one optical drive and one hard drive it is entirely possible to run an x1950pro on that power supply without problems, i wouldn't want to do it for an extended amount of time, but it certainly isn't causing the problem right now

my system only pulled 265w from the wall when i had my x1950pro(under full load measured with a Kill-A-Watt)

and you seem to thing that fsp actually displays the running amps rather than peak, only enermax and pc power and cooling diplay the running amps, all others display the peak. thus 300 watts peak is more likely 250-270 continuous, and 100 watts of it are dedicated to the +5v and +3,3v rails making 170 watts/12v = a 14 amps continuous.not enough for a 9800xt and an athlon xp much less an x1950 and a pentium 4 630. lol

and never ever do you actually add the rails together lol. the 12v has it own rating then it's split into rails which have their own rating thus my enermax liberty has dual 22amp rails but when the 12v is calculated the total continuous amps are 36, not 44.

for an x1950 you need a decent 500w psu with 30amps peak on the +12v and 25 continuous.

and I hardly see how your rig with an x300's draw has anything to do with the original posters I mena of course an x300 won't sweat a small psu lol.

Default settings on 05 a 1950Pro dhould be able to crack 10k. If your on a P4 like your namesake would suggest, thats your problem, P4 CPUs truely suck for gaming.
