Windows 7 VS windows 8

Not once it two months have I had any problems with the O/S itself or compatibility with games, drivers, or software. I won't go back. One thing I will say is when first signing up I stayed clear of the Microsoft Accnt and created an off line one due to not needing Cloud storage and not wanting Microsoft to have a clone of my info.

I know that on window 8 you have not deskop on startup, dont know what the thing is called, but is there a way to get rid of that.
that's basicly the only concern i have ^^, lol rigth.

Yes, install Start 8, or Startisback, or Classic Shell. All will give you almost complete W7 interface experience with all the benefits of W8.

Speed? on a bad day you post a question, it could take 3 days before you get sufficient replies to help you decide on a solution, if a thread already exists you may have all the answers immediately.

You can use stock desktop in win 8.1 by hovering your pointer over the bottom left corner of the screen. However, for me it only appeared when it wanted to and it still doesn't solve the start menu problem. They implemented a start menu with an update but it was only half user friendly. The programs that @rtwjunkie mentioned main feature is the start menu itself. You can choose which file paths you want displayed and the functionality of the power button as well.
