Since so many planes are equipped with WiFi, is it safe to assume I can use WiFi Direct to use my controller with my tablet? I'm flying Delta and KLM.

I'd say yeah but the way airlines bend ya over on every thing these days you better have a nice limit on your credit card if you want WiFi

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Isnt it a flat rate? Like $5 for one way or $8 to coplete your round trip or something?

I don't want WiFi; I want WiFi Direct so I can use my Shield Controller with my Shield Tablet. The flights I'm going on don't even offer WiFi.

Probably best to ring round a couple and find out. Whatever we advise you means nothing if they've changed their policies.

From delta "Customers can access Wi-Fi service with introductory pricing options that begin with one hour passes for laptop users as low as $14.00 and $8.00 for mobile users or a flight pass option, which will keep customers connected throughout their flight, starting at $24.95 for laptop users and $14.95 for mobile users. All of Delta's 747-400 aircraft will have Wi-Fi installed by mid-2014." http://news.delta.com/2014-03-25-De...-Access-for-Customers-on-its-747-400-Aircraft

There should be no issue using the controller with the tablet while in flight either.
