I've been waiting on 2 things to happen for this to hopefully happen. A substantial install base of nextgen consoles and Source 2 to be officially announced for Valve to begin releasing the three threes. Half Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3 and Portal 3. I think Valve has possibly been waiting until now to do proper justice to those 3 games.
