Hi! This is my first thread! Yay \o/

Well.. I've been searching for a newer vbios for my HD7970, But every vbios a tested, Hasnt worked.. =/

i Think i got the C380 Board, But dont know how to check it ?

The only reason i want to flash it, is because it looks "cooler" in Device Manager, and i want to get the uefi gop for it..

Does anyone here know where i can find a 280x version bios that works ?

i got the Powercolor HD7970 - AX7970-3GBD5-2DH rev.1

If it isn't here, you're probably not going to find it. Whatever it is you're looking for...

Listen to the angry kitty person. Just because it looks cooler doesn't mean it'll run better, if at all.

Good thing it won't allow you to program the bios chip with the "cooler" bios code.

A successful flash will result in a bricked card. And a lot of tears.

I'm sorry, but I've never seen a sillier reason to want to flash a bios chip.

It allows me to flash it, Flashed 5 different vbioses, one of them went black screen on startup, The other shows retarded amount of vram etc, and "device cannot start" in device manager.. Just had to start on bios 2, flip the switch when in Windows, and flash back the original vbios..

Seriously...if you're trying to "look cool"...it's not worth it. Even if it is dual-BIOS.

If you're trying to flash a compatible UEFI BIOS to your card, that might be worth trying. I can't see why that wouldn't be a good idea. If it works. You might try this one.

The thing is.. Which board is it ? C380 or C386 ? The main reason i want to flash is for the uefi gop..

Ok good, so you've got a dual bios. Still, I can't see a reason for trying other bioses. Looks like you want some kind of custom bios, but you can't make one without specialist knowledge of the hardware and bios programming (as in computer coding).

The only potential reason to try and flash the bios is if your current one was giving you problems and the manufacturer had released a new version for your specific card to fix it.

i want the uefi gop..

My question is, why would it matter? What's the reason you think you need to know that?

Because it has another type of boost..

Wait...another type of boost? Please explain. I'm not following you at all there.

So what? Then mod the BIOS first using VBE7 to set it to whatever you want and flash it like that.

VBE7 doesn't support uefi gop, And to implement uefi, i have to have a vbios that works on the card, wich allready have uefi..

Cool...you quoted that before I deleted it. The BIOS linked above is a UEFI BIOS. Does it support Fast Boot UEFI GOP? I would assume so. But you tell me. Flash it and see.

I doubt it if the post is slow then GOP isn't gonna help that
you don't need GOP to enable-fast boot or at least you should't

Yes, I know, but you're on a hiding to nothing, as myself and everyone else on here is trying to tell you.

As that function is not supported by the manufacturer for this card then there's nothing you can do so flashing various bioses trying to get it is a pointless waste of time.

It won't speed up anything, plus do you actually know that the hardware is even capable of it?

I think you'd be better off buying or borrowing a card that supports this feature and be done with it.

Guys, I need just a minute of your time.
Is there a chance that anybody have ever seen a 280x bios with a Chill VRM and a Hynix MFR memory?
I just wanna to flash my Powercolor 7970 to 280x and I'm kinda lost hope to find an appropriate bios for that.

I upgraded my HIS card to UEFI GOP without manufactuerer support, but it's a reference board under the hood so it was easy to find one.

You are playing with fire here.

Nope, never seen any with MFR. Just AFR and BFR. My 280X has CHL88x & H5GQ2H24AFR. You have looked through the entire list right?
