Use DDU cleaner, all others are a bit rubbish to be honest. I remember having this error once, but can't remember what it was exactly. Usually I clean the drivers using DDU if problems appear. And then it's usually fine.

Yeah it didn't work for me. Must've been a massive error somewhere. I've freshly installed a new copy of Win7 64bit. Feelsgood.jpg

However redownloading all my games is a bitch. Especially with a 1mb/s download speed (f***ing Australia).

I'm off to bed. I'll leave LoL, Eve Online and Diablo 3 to install overnight.

Thanks for your help everyone.

I don't know why so many people rave about DDU like it's the best, or even the only driver uninstaller to trust.

First time I tried it I checked after using it with Driver Sweeper's Analyse button to see if any AMD bits were left over, and it left quite a few. That was enough for me to uninstall that so called uninstaller.

You are welcome to report it to the dev, he's a nice chap. Seconds always use the latest version, and since when it was needed to install it?

^Why would I do that? Should it not be obvious that when you can use an uninstaller that works fine without having to report problems, you just stick with what works vs feed the hype train by supporting a lesser product?

There's no bigger message I can send them than to publicly state I prefer to use Driver Sweeper because theirs is inadequate. I mean honestly, if they don't already KNOW of it's shortcomings, then I doubt they'd even listen to direct feedback from me.

its back up after a fresh OS install, or using the driver cleaners?
just looking for more confirmation that the people with issues used driver cleaners in the past.
I think DDU needs to be banned tbh. It causes more issues then before.

Because I've used all the others and they were rubbish. DDU maybe doesn't have the fanciest interface, but at least it does the job it's meant to do the best.

Evidence needed... I'm using it for ages, in fact I've used it to install these drivers and everything works perfectly. And this installation of Windows is being used the longest with the most antiviruses re-installed. All fine.

I completely agree with RejZoR, if you are dumb enough and use an old DDU to clean a new beta driver version, it is your own issue because of lack of sanity. I've used it also dozens of times, it has a massive database of various driver files and what it leaves after, it doesn't rely on stupid registry queries. If something is wrong the dev usually helps immediately.

I missed something? From where is the hate towards DDU? You are not willing to support? So screw it. There was one blooper with creative drivers, did you die from it? Currently i have found it as the most bullet proof solution for taming multiple driver version experiments.

I had issues where DDU erased my SB Z drivers. Contacted the dev and he sent me a fixed beta in a matter of hours. I just had to reinstall SB Z drivers and that was it. It wasn't the end of the world and after we chatted about it it was a really specific thing with HD Audio driver...

I guess that depends on one's interpretation of "does the job". I personally find it unacceptable when a simple tool like Driver Sweeper finds several AMD specific entries right after DDU tries to fool you into thinking it removed all of them. Yet people still ride the DDU hype train.

The funny thing is, no one I've mentioned this too, and believe me, I say it pretty much every time raves of DDU come up, has ever said they've checked with another tool to see if DDU left anything behind. To me, that's just assuming it does it's job, with no checking whatsoever.

There's a difference between baseless hype and an actual review.

Every time I suggested ddu sucks the flame war starts. I don't need to prove a thing as I've been here long enough to not blow smoke up people's A-HOLE! Plus I've been using amd/atm for years and I think I can say I think I know what's up and how to go about removing a driver safely :p

Any time I've ever used it, be it an old or brand new version something has gone wacked, maybe not straight away but usually a few days later... A simple click in the add/ remove programs and un-check hidden files and folders takes about 2 min to manually delete.

Now a program used to go into the reg and delete entries and at times delete extras that have nothing to do with AMD CCC, well boys to each there own... Good luck and happy trails.

Who says cleaning more means it does a better job? Registry cleaners are all rubbish, except CCleaner. Guess why? Because it cleans the least. And never messes up things unlike others that clean billion entries and always fuck something up...

Sigh I wish they'd fix the thermal throttling. My primary GPU idles @ around 70c as I've set the target temp to 90. If I set it to 50, 60 or 70 CCC underclocks the card so it reaches the target temp (only happens when Im playing a game)

I like these drivers a lot. If Lichdom Battlemage works better, then Crysis 3 should work better as well. Haven't really tried any other games. I hope they fixed stupid NFS:The Run crashing with these...

Yeah I'm well aware some cleaner tools go too far with what they remove and can't be trusted, but we're not talking about random, fly by night registry tools here that haven't been widely used and praised like Driver Sweeper, and the files as I said WERE AMD specific files.

So please tell me, how is Driver Sweeper cleaning too much when it's actually removing ALL of the AMD items like it's supposed to?

The odd thing is, a lot here make it sound like some cleaners are crap, yet for some reason they thought they needed something better than Driver Sweeper, when in fact there's nothing wrong with it. Apparently all they need to hear is a bit of hype and assume the new kid on the block is better.

+6-7 FPS in Assetto Corsa, and much more constant framrates overall, major improvement there. I'm not into paying attention to fps much, but that was enough to notice without even checking. That's about all I'm playing at the moment, besides a little BF3 which also seems slightly improved. Heaven score went up 4 points @1080p. Good beta drivers. Working great so far. I like 'em.

I should probably also mention, my card's a 280X. And I had to dial back the core clock OC for stable gaming by 13MHz. But the games I've played all seem to have improved, performance wise, regardless of that minor change.

i had to dial back my OC slightly as well, but i think my OC wasnt completely stable. stock settings are working perfectly with higher FPS than my previous OC'd readings.

no bugs or glitches in the various games i've been playing, so everything looks good so far.

Has anyone noticed any observable performance improvemens in BF4 under DirectX? That's probably the only reason why I'd want to ugprade from Omega.

Why wouldn't you use Mantle instead? It's just better. Not to mention they fixed a memory leak with this one (at least AMD promised that).
