Doing an upgrade on a customer's PC and am looking for a few parts here before buying them new or looking elsewhere....

Looking for the following:

- a couple of cheap gpus (used to access some of my crunching rigs), may also consider Radeon 77xx or Geforce 6xx/7xx cards and up if the price is right since they can be used for folding.

- a 95w socket AM3 chip- Athlon II x4, Phenom II 1035/1045T, 960T or similar to upgrade from a PII 555- found may buy another if the price is right

- a 2x4GB DDR3 ram kit (1333 or 1600Mhz- nothing faster is needed, prefer CAS 9, 1.5v)- must be low profile due to cpu cooler interference (i.e. no taller than GSkill Ares sticks) ram found!

Hello, this is Jason C. I have the AMD Athlon II X4 630 (Quad Core @ 2.8GHz) / AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE lightly used and both work like a champ. I can provide pics, or anything you need if your interested. I also have an extra AMD FX-6300 (Hexa-Core) Black Edition Unlocked CPU. Those are the main 3 Left Over of what I have in that area besides the more expensive Phenom II x6 1090T and FX-8350. I run my own PC Business and can come across most any chip you'd need. If your still interested let me know.

Also i got 8GB (4x2GB) GSKILL RipJaw low profile (Fits under my ThermalTake Frio Advanced & FRIOCK 230-240W Dual Tower Heat Sinks they fit under. They are CAS9, 1600Mhz, and are Red. Also i got really low profile dimms from Kingston HyperX BLU 1600Mhz/CAS9 that will fit in any scenario and are great ram modules and OC well. Finally i do have other good modules but without heat spreaders, etc. Like matching 8GB of Samsung 1333Mhz Dimms as well as Kingston types too.

I've had 2 and both unlocked..
recommended to someone else and his unlocked, too.
Near as I can figure,AMD locked a bunch of Denebs because they had to meet demand for 2-cores for OEMs.
ofc That is just speculation.

Will not be unlocking cores or overclocking (BE chips are fine though if price is right)- PC is being used for a small business.... just need an extra core or two to give it a little boost.

955 BE,965 BE.
I left out the 1065T which is 960T unlocked
You can't has mine
B59s unlock and are cheap..just sayin'..
..and just like a 555..owait..no unlocked multi..
but pfft..multi is 17 anyways..

Thuban can suck quite a bit of power..

Only the 1035T, 1045T, 1055T (only some), and 1065T are 95w and under.

Was thinking the X6s would have to have poor clock speeds to stay under wattage targets, but I suppose boost/turbo clocks take care of that. If it's going to see 100% CPU usage all the time (*cough*wcg*cough*), it wouldn't hit the 3-core turbo speeds and single-threaded performance would suffer.

Was just going to ask if you've considered an Athlon, but I see that's partially what you're looking for. Looks like almost all the Athlons out there fit under that TDP limit. Should give good performance for the price.

My local Microcenter has some AMD Phenom II B55's and some AMD Phenom II B59's. $30 and $40 bucks it seems.

I wouldn't mind picking up some for you for maybe $5 or $10 bucks or so in my pocket, plus you pay shipping.
