Planning to get Asus Crossfire Formula V when I saw MSI's 970 AM3+ Motherboard..

Specwise the only major thing (aside from BIOS and OC stuffs) was the lack of PCIE 3..

But the MSI almost has everything Asus has for less than half the price..

Planning to use it with my FX 6300 and GTX 960~

Im dealing with my s****y AsRock 960GC GS-FX

Soooo go for MSI or wait for Asus?

Some of the 970 boards have cheap vrm so you cant overlock as much. The msi krait doesnt seem to have strong vrm's.

The new asrock 970 looks solid though.

depends what you want from your system, do you want a massive overclock with plenty of features, or just a simple light gaming machine at a lesser price.

That MSI gaming has an 8+2 phase design plenty enough for that 6 core cpu. The crosshair the same amount of phases but better quality and feature rich. The asrock 970 8+2 phases as well, id rate the quality better than MSI and asrock say their board handles 220w

Well soon you will have the Asrock Fatality 970 Performace board out so you might want to take a look at that.

Other then that going for an expensive AM3+ board like the asus board does not seems like a good idea.

Hmmm might check for Fatality if its available in my country (Philippines)

AM3+ boards are rare as the A series is the more popular processor~

To be honest anything is a step up from my current board and I just got excited when I saw what the MSI had to offer for its price~

remember to edit posts not triple post.

i had the 990FX fatality (professional) and it was pretty reliable and got abused a lot. Maybe they've dropped quality now , i'm not sure.

If you do want something reliable and extremely good then the sabertooth 990fx is my next option, the Gigabyte UD3 is also ok.

p.s i was talking about the asrock 970 fatality killer when i first posted, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&cm_re=am3_motherboard-_-13-157-479-_-Product
