Ram heatsinks how to re-glue them?

sup fellas i have a brief question, how can i repaste some heat spreaders to a ram module? they dont have the incluided double sided thermal tape,
i was wondering about: Arctic Silver™ Thermal Adhesive

those are the old heat spreaders i have found:

Missing parts:
Thermal adesive tape, clips, **they are red.

Thermal adhesive tape is very cheap for a roll/pads on ebay.


That adhesive is permanent I believe.

For the clips you could use a wide rubber band long ways

im trying to stay away from tape.... it comes weak with the passage of time,

Adhesive is the wrong way to go. For one the mess, and two if you ever do want the spreaders off again, you will definitely damages things with that much contact area.
Adhesive thermal tape, or even just double sided tape is what I see in all of the kits, and have seen used for years.
Only reason the tape would let lose over time is due to poor preparation of what was being taped in my opinion.

Is there any significant difference between thermal tapes?

Thickness and size would be the only real factors to consider. Assuming this is not DDR or DDR2 anyways, heat isn't a real factor anyways, and being just mostly for show, use whatever works.

Also you could send off an email to Thermaltake and see if they would offer you a replacement mounting kit, or point you to where to find one

They will be used on 2x4 dimms of kingston memory, regular ones, foe aesthetic reasons ,

I don't think I'd use Arctic Silver Adhestive because I believe it is conductive.

So as it squeezed out when you apply the heatsinks it could short out the memory and you'll end up with dead memory.

yes it is, just like the Phobya Thermal Glue (who is also cheaper and ... oh wait am i ranting again against AS? awwww sorry i stop ) i use for my 8800 Ultra MK-26 ramsink installation

yep for RAM and not vRAM permanent install you'd better use tape

The tape might as well be considered permanent, too. The thermal tape I have would split ICs the stuff is so strong. Just FYI.

well yes but it's still less solid than a epoxy thermal glue ... except the one you use, then let's just hope peche will not buy the same as yours ... i have 4 ECC DDR stick with tape and alu heatsink (gold no brand 2 little alu clip for fastening) for aesthetic well as i paid 1$ per heatsink, i will never re-buy branded one, unless it's a real heatsink like the one from Phobya, Arctic and some other ... if it's just a cosmetic then : Aliexpress, DX.com or even ebay have what i need and in multiples coloring xD

they might be cheap chinese type but they do the job perfectly when it come just to cosmetic use (not that the SuperMirco H8DCE is totally accorded to them and vice versa ... but ... who care xD )

i will try to stick them later with some thermal tape.... i've found yesterday the missing clips... so just tape and clips...
