Couple of hundred Gig a month, doesn't mean I want to get online just to play a game.
It kind of defeats the purpose of buying the disk.

Great game. Really enjoying it. Loving Franklin, his just cool. Just got Michael today (Had the game for almost 10 days now).
The language and attitude is exactly what makes GTA.
As for having to connect to the internet to play, whilst that sucks, I don't really mind because the modem is always connected to the internet (Sure would suck if my ISP drops out).
I paid $59 AUD, 3 days after release and thought it was a decent price. I did not enjoy the 7 disc installation procedure and thus copied all the disc's to an SSD for re-installation when w10 is officially released (currently running the technical preview). I guess the only thing I hated thus so far was the 5gb update after the 7 disc installation procedure.
Runs great, nice and smooth.
I might actually do a few missions when I am done with the cop killing and beating up random people on the street.
Not a fan of the music selection, but at-least I can select music from my own personal collection.

Anyone got a link for the stand-alone 5gb update ?

Meh.

I'm in a minority but it's way too 'nigga' (I know it's contextual but I fucking hate that language and it's frankly a shitty culture to emulate) and not as pretty as everyone says.

+1

The franchise lost me once it glorified a gangster/thug life back in GTA3 - San Andreas. I played the game for about 60 minutes before I couldn't stand it. I haven't picked up a GTA game since.

Terrible game, the 65GB is the huge number of scripted videos that are tacked on, very little game and too much video. Graphics are pre Crysis 1, very dated. Why on earth are there car towing missions, pointless? Took a lot of hours play to get to first good shootout at the bikers junkyard.
Mafia 2 is an identical game, a lot less video and a bit more game.
If people are playing this they don't have a lot of sophistication.

I think that's normal for GTA. It's basically a huge world with lots of activities in it. Some are fun to play and some aren't. In early story mode the game kinda force you to do a little bit of everything and I can see why it upset you. Personally I don't mind it as much. I enjoy the story, character introduction and dialogues which are quite funny. Wait till you get to heist missions and the game will pick up the pace and will pump your adrenaline for good. The game develops very much like a movie. You can't expect action scenes throughout the film, there has to be something else too. If you don't like petty mini games then you should head to online mode, where you can jump straight to actions.

I liked Mafia 2 too but there are very little side activities in it (and the fact that the cop chases you when you run a red light sucks, they should name the game 'model citizen' instead of 'mafia'). I've played GTAV for over 120 hours now (45 for story mode, the rest is online) and I like it very much. Graphic wise GTAV is the best looking game comparing to other games of the same map size. Just Cause 2 is equally big but not as beautiful, while Mafia 2 is way smaller.

Yeah I've been playing it but there are still some great bugs (e.g. can't even buy the correct stock, this bug made me lost a lot of money and I am not happy) and the game is a bit more interesting than IV but still boring compared to VC and SA. Maybe Rockstar should try to make GTA a game and not a real life emulator. The storyline and atmosphere have been lame since IV.

A 5770 can do playable framerates at 720p and low, so I'm sure your card can do that too.
