Best Software for Data Recovery

Looking for the best software (freeware) for data recovery. I deleted a folder from my desktop that I need back. It didn't go to the recycle bin. It was just gone. Any recommendations?

Thanks all I was able to get all my music files back. Actually went ahead an upgraded to an Intel 730 series SSD too.
