Galaxy Tab S and internet

Pardon me for my dumbness coming out, but I just brought a Galaxy Tab s 8.4 and I'm wondering if I can get internet service on it like thru Cricket or Straighttalk? I'd imagine it would have to be brought thru a cellular retailer with special hardware (the cellular radio) for that ability, correct?

if your model has a SIM card slot, you just need to put the SIM in.

If it doesnt have a SIM slot, you're stuck with wifi.

According to the official specs, it has a SIM slot. I'm at work and won't be home for quite some time.

If you don't have sim card, you could use USB 3G dongle modem (google for compatibility) or portable 3G modem (connected via wifi).

the USB ones really suck, but the hotspot modems would be my next suggestion, although obviously they're limited to data only while many of the SIM enabled samsung tablets do call and text as well.
