[Laptop] I'm confused

My laptop battery goes from 100% to nearly 70% in 1 hour and 5 mins while playing music and chatting on face-book and running light apps, is this normal?

here is my laptop specs :
Brand name : HP Probook 620
CPU : Intel core 2 duo T6570 2.10Ghz
GPU : Intel 45MHD
RAM : 2 GB DDR3
HDD : 320 GB
Battery capacity is 4200.

Windows' battery meter is dreadfully wrong in most of its estimations. As are manufacturer's website specifications. Whatever your manufacturer says about the battery life, it's usually completely overestimated.

That's about right. Your battery will only last about 4 hours

I'd say dropping only 30% in 1 hour is pretty darn good! But I also agree with RCoon and would be surprised if you get much more than 3 hours (if that) while tasking your system in that manner. Though I don't blame the "Windows" battery monitor specifically. All battery monitors can only guess based on current drain rates and no two batteries (even identical batteries) are the same.

Are you connected to the Internet via Ethernet or wifi? If Ethernet, you might get a little more battery runtime.

There are other factors to consider too such as cell age and remaining lifecycle. There's also things such as network connections...WiFi, and Bluetooth that cause a constant draw. Screen brightness has one of the biggest impacts when just browsing that I've seen. A busy HDD will also consume more power.

Also.what do you consider light apps?

As said above though, 4 hours sounds about right.
