Hey guys,
I got a pair of PSD38G1600KH 2x 4gb 1600mhz CAS 11 1.5v kit from Patriot. The first kit, I had alot of issue, so it has been sent in RMA. The other kit failed any test, so I sent it again, and now, I got a new kit, I'm still having issue with it, here's my test:
-Single channel on a MSI H81M-P33 with Pentium G3258, 1333mhz works
-Dual channel on Maximus VI Formula, 1600mhz and 1333mhz, works ( didn't retest since now it's not working on the other)
-Dual Channel on P8H77-M/CSM With it 2500k, 1333mhz and 1600mhz, doesn't works, computer crash alot, and memtest freeze at 2mins05 but single channel works
-Dual channel on MSI H81M-P33, freeze at 2mins 03 to 07, 1333mhz, CAS 9-10-11, 1T, 2T.
I've looked, they are different serial number, so it's not my last kit. Just for information, on the H81 and H77, I tested dual samsung/kingston 2x2gb, and on the H77, the samsung + kingston 4x 2gb and it works totally fine...
From my guess, this ram doesn't even works on all motherboard. All bios are updated. I contacted them to get another RMA but they don't do prepaid label due to internationnal (USA to Canada). So they are sending me a hand tested kit before I send them back the other.
I am really disappointed about their product, not working on all "standard" motherboard but worked on my Maximus.. Paying each time 20$ to send back the defective kit. The next one, if it doesn'T work, I think I'll put the ram into the garbage and buy another, as it will cost me more than a brand new kit.. I never had any issue with Kingston, corsair, or mushkin that I normally buy, even g.skill into a dell computer worked fine xD
Anyone had any issue with patriot? or have you already have similar issue with ram?
