Something isn't right here....
I only reinstalled windows twice and it says that the SSD has almost written 99TB:wtf::confused:, I just bought this laptop new in May 2014!!
How can that be possible??? If this would be true, it may die soon.

WOW, probably just a bug, check for a firmware update for it maybe it's a known issue you could get in touch with who made it and see what they say and see if you can get it sorted out.

I had it with Corsairs Force GT drives when it was claiming the drives had been on for few 100 years lol, how ever a new firmware update fixed it.

EDIT:
I noticed DELL sell these with their systems and updated the firmware all so came across this

If you do update the firmware make sure you back every thing up 1st just in case.

Ok I will check if there is firmware for this LiteOn SSD.
I'm not even 100% sure that it even had 3TB writes already.
LOL an SSD a few 100 years on....:D:laugh::nutkick:

Edit: I could not find a firmware update for my LiteOn SSD Asus
Only could find it for Dell and Lenovo

I think I just leave this SSD as is, since the OS is installed on this SSD.

I would still get in touch with them about it, even if it just to see what they say about it. Maybe though email so you have a hard copy of proof if any thing comes back at ya.

@P4-630 SSD-Z has been using a fallback routine to display and format SMART values, for when the exact model/controller isn't known. I realise now that this is a bad approach, considering how it will sometimes get it wrong. Your SSD is actually a Plextor M6S OEM drive, it uses a Marvell controller. Knowing that, the correct values are 3771.9 GB written and 3158.6 GB read.

@ricoh I thought I had already added the Mushkin Io/Europe SSD, but had only done the Io. It should definitely be in the next release.

Just a small update.

It was my plan to release a new update of SSD-Z by the end of March. But I've got a job again, so I don't have nearly as much time to work on it as before.

The next update is almost done, but it just needs some minor tweaks, as well as some adjustments to the benchmark tab.

It appears to me as if the project may be dead; no updates in a month-and-a-half.

It looked somewhat promising, but we always have Crystal...

Sorry for being quiet for so long. The project is not dead at all, I just haven't had so much time as of late.

I've made many minor changes since the last release, but the biggest issues from the feedback so far, is lacking benchmark functionality, and no USB/RAID support.

Until one of those bigger issues, or the submission feature, are implemented, a new update would be pretty lackluster.

A new version of SSD-Z has been released.

Get it here.

Thanks to TechPowerUp, SSD-Z now includes a submission feature. Please go ahead and test this out by submitting your SSDs, especially if they are unrecognized.

In addition to that, many other minor changes have been added in this release as well, such as several settings being saved between sessions. You can read the complete change log in the download thread.

There are still a lot of planned changes in the works, such as RAID and USB support, and a proper fleshed out benchmark feature.

Keep posting your feedback here, positive or negative.

you could do with displaying whether a drive supports 'DevSleep', and whether a drive is using AHCI or NvME as well as showing whether it supports AHCI or NvME as it may support NvME but is using AHCI. It would be good if you could make a new tab called "Power" and show the power used in 'devslp' and in 'slumber sleep mode' as well as idle, when reading and when writing. You won't be able to automatically get this info on the drive though i suspect, you would have to use info from reviews on websites or from a manufacturer's specifications if they have released information for these different values. You should rename "Technology" to "nm Process" and have a tooltip say "Nanometer Process" when you hover over it as writing nanometer on the label would be too long to keep your user interface neat.

"Failed to sumit the device"

"Fatal Error: SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraiint violation: 1048

I've tried entering an email and leaving it blank and leaving the info blank.

Its not an SSD but since HGST is coming up as unknown I thought it needed submitting at least for that reason.

My comment:

It just needs an entry to recognise its Hitachi Global Storage Technologies and a logo:

The new release as of today fixes a small issue with the submit feature.

With certain devices and on certain systems, the submission could fail.

If you've previously submitted a device, but received an error, or you still see your SSD as unrecognized by SSD-Z in the new version, it would be greatly appreciated if you could re-submit it.

I reported my "Kingdian" SSD hopefully that's helpful. Look forward to future development.

So what is happening, is SSD-Z dead?

Nope, it's been a bit slow though. Working on SSD-Z is something I tend to do in bursts. The major features I want to implement, are not something that is done yet. This has sort of made me reluctant to put out a new release. However, with the amazing amount of submissions people have sent in, there have been a great improvement of SSD detection and SMART accuracy.

These changes alone should be worthy of an update. With software in development, its probably better to put out frequent updates. So let me try and be a little more regular about it.
