I just formatted W7 64 due to a strange reboot freeze showing what looked to be a string of encryption text on the CD ROM black screen, following an attempt to program update COMODO. The format went OK and I can reboot fine now.

I have the same 32 bit 1.7.8 build of MPC-HC I was using before. I had also used this guide and tried all the MadVR settings. I stopped at Reclock since I didn't want it.

I don't recall if I USED all the settings shown for MadVR before, but now I'm getting MPC-HC disabling CCC's overscan settings whenever I put it in fullscreen mode. I can minimize MPC-HC then launch CCC and stretch overscan back out to fill the screen, but it's a hassle. I'm also using the same Cat 14.12 Omega driver I was before the format.

Does anyone know what is causing this or how to fix it? Could it be one of the MadVR settings shown in this guide? I can't think of any different settings in CCC, W7 or MPC-HC I'm using.

After further checking, it appears the overscan while MPC-HC is running only has to be set once per file type as far as I can tell. I had to do it for each of the 2 videos I viewed last night, but I think they may have been different file types.

Software A lot.
Benchmark Scores Its fast. Enough.
Are you using Gaming mode on the display? Usually that will fix the overscan/underscan issues, also see if you are letting the GPU or TV do the resizing, and or do you have ITC checked?

Use the over scan you did before though CCC and make sure the resolution is right then check the TV in case that's changed.

I always use Game mode on the TV. That hasn''t changed since before the format. And it's not a general overscan/underscan issue. The desktop itself is easily settable in CCC for overscan with each res, and only has to be set once for each res. ITC is set on by default and should be for TVs from what I've read, though I was using "Maintain Aspect ratio" vs "Scale image to fit to panel", and am trying that setting instead now.

I actually am using the same overscan and res used before.

I received a couple replies on the AVS Forum where I got the MPC-HC with MadVR guide, and both said it's normal for this to happen, but with different refresh rates on vids. Probably translates to how many frames per second they're encoded in.

They said overscan has to be set for each refresh rate, and apparently just once, because the 2nd time the vids will play fine.
