well, I love gigabyte cards too, so I'm wating to see a GTX 980ti G1-Gaming! :pimp:

also inno3D makes interesting models and zotac is getting first places on the race with their models, so definitely waiting to see gigabyte model…

the worst part of the story, upgrading from current GTX 760 this december, planning to get a 970 cause it's what my wallet can pay :(
edit !!!

I would take any that doesn't have coil whine but that's always a mixed bag.

I kinda like that EVGA AIO water cooling card.

solid card, pretty sexy cooler, the question ?... how it will perform?
Well... of course. Need wait and see the real reviews. But factory OC by Inno3D is nice, more aggressive than Superclocked EVGA version. Must be good.

Nice one. But this Hybrid yet noisy.. i think, because that scary reference turbine.
Better then aim to something full water w/ custom hq silent radator fans, like - Hydro Copper.

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Hydro Copper

Price is serious :| And it's not mention about additional EKWB stuffs, like water radiator and fans... water pump and reservoir.. tsss
+ $200

The fact that ALL COIL WHINE isn't 100% removed from video cards is a joke. I'm pretty sure they know exactly what causes it, and exactly how to eliminate it, but don't care or don't want to fork out the extra cost it probably takes to use better quality parts to avoid coil whine :banghead:

Off topic but i'm curious.

Serious question, what's the point of the reservoir?
Is it only there to show some color, bubbles and be lit up and look pretty, or does it serve a real purpose?
AIO's don't need them, so why do custom loops.

Tomorrow nl.hardware.info will do a big review of non-reference 980 ti's, that should clear a lot up :)
It was just the EVGA SC+ ACX 2.0+ one... Oh well, it's something :p
It's faster, cooler, quieter and prettier than the reference, but of course we can't know how good it is until we've seen other cards..
A big pro is that EVGA listed the price as 769 euros, only 20 euros more expensive than reference!

AIO's don't need them, so why do custom loops.
Reservoirs is more to mod and performance. But first, is to more higher performance than AIO closed solution that you cannot maintain.
With custom reservoir you can have cutom water pump of power and quality you want, pressure + the same, nearly, radiators that AIO solution have. In reservoir you can choose type of liquid and it's color,
Coollaboratory Liquid Coolant Pro Blue, for example. And... for GPU - AIO water solutions is more acceptable than for CPU. More profitable by looking.

Serious question
Btw, this is really serious question. And i'm sure that just can't save money on water cooling, save money on cheap water pump. Because anyone 'll wants see consequences of exploded pump inside high-end chassis... can be a tragedy.

You don't need a reservoir at all. The line that feeds the pump simply needs a 'T' line fill port. The reservoir makes it easier to fill the custom loop though. A secondary function IMO is that a reservoir adds a greater volume of colder water to the loop, therefore increasing cooling capacity. If you had a 1000 liter reservoir, your loop would pretty much cool itself passively, without need of even a radiator or fans. More water volume = greater surface area for passive heat transfer.

So, radiator not needed (not even for custom) but plays a role in easier maintenance and arguably better cooling performance.

The 980Ti variant with 12gb and 3072 cores ...

Or the Nvidia 980ti Fury with HBM......

Yeah. The advantage of better water supply is very kool thing.
Never had full passive water btw. 1000 liter is an exaggeration.. but need think about it within reasonable limits ;)

I made the comment as an exaggeration but now I think about it, I might link my loop up to an extra 5 litre drum of de-ionised water.....

can't wait for the ASUS direct cu iii gtx 980 ti to come out so I can flipping BUY it...
That or possibly the Gigabyte G1. NEVER again MSI graphics card (for me).

I've never had issues with graphics card before, but the MSI that I got (msi gaming gtx 970 4gb) has huge coil whine issues... I've always bought ASUS cards before it and never once had an issue (be it noise, heat, performance)

Which variant would I want?
One that is single slot, is half the length and uses half the power but still performs as well as the others.
If it wasn't for cost, it would probably be built already.

That Gigabyte G1 SOC is one sweet piece of kit, I'm personally waiting for the MSI Gaming card, but it seems you can't really go wrong with either.

I'm waiting for Gaming and Strix cards, and then, will make decision.

But... Radeon 390X release tomorrow... who knows... and so far we know the price point of the whole 300 series is very tasty

$389 R9 390X vs $500 GTX 980
