I've been having crashes in Chrome with WHQL drivers since version 352.86
All later versions have the same issue as majority of users report and Nvidia claimed they couldn't reproduce the issue.
Suddenly they release HotFix driver not as a beta, but as a download link inside one of their forum threads:

http://international.download.nvidi...win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international.hf.exe

http://international.download.nvidi...win8-win7-winvista-32bit-international.hf.exe

More details:
https://forums.geforce.com/default/...vers/announcing-geforce-hotfix-driver-353-38/

I'm testing these drivers while I'm writing this, and I wanted to share experiences.
Anyone else tried these?

Thanks for letting us know.

I'm fed up with Chrome crashes and GSync bugs in Windows let see if this will fix it.

And thanks for the direct links too, cause clicking on the link on their forum post gives me a broken webpage.

edit: off topic, I kinda got used to your koala avatar
yea, I kinda liked it. It supposed to mean that I'm as badly addicted to computer tech/science stuffs as how koalas addicted to eucalyptus (not sure how many here understood the message tho) but then this happened. It would have been wrong to ask a new member to change his avatar imo, that's not how you welcome somebody to a community.

I installed the 353.38 hotfix driver and like 353.03 and 353.30, it locks my whole system when Chrome is running with hardware acceleration precisely on the third day. I am using two GTX 980 in SLI and I just got the TDR when browsing the TechPowerUp forums using Chrome recently. The previous two drivers, 353.03 and 353.30, also caused TDR and locked my whole system on the third day. A strange trend. Also it happens only with Chrome. Firefox 37.0.2, even with hardware acceleration enabled, does not suffer from this issue.

I am going back home now. ← knocking on 347.88's door

p.s. @BiggieShady if your cannot find a stable driver for your GTX 970, please give 347.88 a try.

Thanks, that's what I eventually ended up doing for last 3 driver releases ... that one or even GTAV ready driver works fine for me

After installing this hotfix the day it came out I haven't have a driver crash with Chrome on my 970s yet. With the previous drivers I'd get a driver crash within 5 minutes of opening Chrome, almost like clockwork. So if they didn't totally fix the problem, they at least have made it a heck of a lot better.

I think it affects all browsers if hardware acceleration is on, but hey - it seems to me they finally fixed the issue, I haven't had crash since friday *crossing fingers on both hands and feet*
This was really big issue for 980 Ti users, since they can't use older version at all.
By the time you buy your 980, all issues should be resolved.

Cards aren't faulty since they all work fine with older driver versions.
I suppose they just can't afford to mess with Titan X buyers  mere mortals with < $1000 card can wait for the fixes

Yes, it is certainly an improvement. I always got TDR when Chrome is running with hardware acceration on with 353.06 and 353.30, but I only got 1 TDR since the first time I installed this driver, and it was just recently. So far I have not get any TDR yet.

There are mixed results in GeForce forums. Some people claimed they had TDRs with Firefox and hardware acceleration, others Chrome, some others both and a few claimed did not have any problem at all. Honestly I am still not quite sure. I think I will postpone 347.88 installation and keep this driver installed for several days to see if another TDR is triggered or something else happens.

Cheater. Though, I'm still listing my R9 290X even though I just shipped it... I'm currently using a laptop with a Mobility GTX 7600M for a few days, lol.

Was it cheaper ordering from Germany?
Or no slovenian webshop selling that card yet?

It was 70€ cheaper (card+ DP cable), but the reason for such decision wasn't financial. And you'll laugh while reading this, but I've decided for Germany because they were actually able to sell me a DisplayPort cable with the card...

I currently have microDisplayPort cable for my Radeon and it won't be compatible with the GTX 980, because it requires normal sized DP cable. I asked the store where I wanted to buy it and they had no clue if they even sell them. Then the guy remembered they have some really expensive DP cable kit from HP. For which I was unable to find ANY info whether it's DP v1.2 or anything lower. I have a 144Hz monitor and I have no wish to fuck around with cables that don't support something.
So I checked Computer Universe for the lolz and behold, DP cable from DeLock in stock. Went to DeLock vendor webpage, checked the cable reference number and it was v1.2. It's not rocket science, lazy HP... So I've ordered it there with the cable. I'm all in supporting economy of my country and I don't mind paying slightly more for less painful RMA-ing because store then does allt he shipping and all, but this was pretty stupid. Selling 650€ graphic cards and not offer any DisplayPort cables. Ugh.

I'll try this, because the latest official WHQL driver is crashing all over the place. Haven't had any game for more than 10 minutes before it crashes.
