DeepCool Unveils GamerStorm TF120 "2-layer Blade" Fans

DeepCool unveiled the GamerStorm branded TF120 high-performance case fans. The fans are characterized by what the company calls "2-layer fan blades." Each of the impeller's 9 blades has a small second "layer" that works to increase air flow. It's driven by a motor that features fluid-dynamic bearing, with up to 100,000 hours MTBF. The fan comes in three colors - red (with red illumination), white (white illumination), and black (blue illumination). The TF120 takes input from a 4-pin PWM connector, offering speeds of 500 to 1,800 RPM, with up to 76.52 CFM of air-flow, and between 17.6 to 31.3 dBA of noise output. Other features include rubber padding along the mount-holes on the frame. The company didn't announce pricing or availability.

No, the TF is a natural development of their own fan "lineage" that started with the UF, then the GF.

Those blades looks like they would be substantially louder than traditional blades.

just find another red bladed fan. They all look the same while spinning anyway.

I doubt they are anything helpful in airflow (and more importantly in the P(Q) curve of this fan) with those fancy exXxtra blades. Scythe used a technique to make the last edge of the fins to drop in their Grand Flex lineup to increase static pressure. Well, it worked, but turned out to be in a way not so comfortable. And besides, users complained about other issues too, concerning motor especially. Besides this, Black Noise also tried to decrease noise and increase pressure with their all-famous eLoop fans by reducing fin vibration. It didn't work out actually, but did make the timbre more pleasant (like you're in a 80's hot rod

).

Truth be told, only what matters the most is perfect fin design, and Nidec and Noctua have been well succesfull in it.

The gap between the blade edge and shroud loses a lot of air and causes a lot of turbulence noise.
