Microsoft Corp. today announced that Windows Live Hotmail, the successor to MSN Hotmail, is launching globally in 36 languages. Windows Live Hotmail will deliver a safer, more powerful and productive e-mail experience than previous versions with flexible access via the Web, on a mobile phone or with an e-mail client. As Windows Live Hotmail begins rolling out on May 7 and continues over the coming days, consumers will be able to visit http://www.hotmail.com to sign up for a new Windows Live Hotmail account. Current MSN Hotmail customers can also update their existing account to Windows Live Hotmail by logging into their account and clicking on the green Join Windows Live Hotmail button. Later this month Windows Live Hotmail customers will also be able to access their Windows Live Hotmail e-mail and contacts for free using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or Office Outlook 2007 via the new Microsoft Office Outlook Connector beta.

I'll give it another go, but it used to have some annoying issues which made me quit the beta. Old Hotmail FTW!

Yup i'm with ya. I don't like Hotmail live at all. They turned it into outlook lite. I quit the beta as well because the morons forgot "print view" in the new hotmail, plus the old htmail was just easier to use.

Well it looks like Microsoft is batting a 1000% these days. First they give us the crap OS known as Vista and now Hotmail Live. :nutkick:

Never did like hotmail, though I used it when I played Terris (MUD RPG Game). This looks like it may be a bit better but I will stick with my Bellsouth (the new AT&T) and Yahoo email accounts (anyone else here like fantasy football, baseball and such?)

Is it compatible with other email clients? I would love to have a better remote www experience, but I still want my MAIL CLIENT at home to operate and download all the mail.

But MS turned that feature off on NEW hotmail accounts last year. Fortunately my account is older, so I can still download to outlook and outlook express.

Anyone got views on this new service?

And cost?
