Had originally planned to use this in my next mITX build, but decided to go with the G3258 instead. I am only selling the bare CPU, no cooler or box will be provided.

SOLD to @solara2xb

Decided to go with a G3258 rather than this in my next mITX build. Selling only the CPU, stock cooler is not included.

lol - I did the exact opposite. Have a G3258 sitting in the closet after an i5 4590 replaced it in my secondary rig. Oh, bump for ya.

Updated the thread, added a better photo, and reduced the price (including an even cheaper deal for WCG/F@H members)!

Was the performance difference worth it?

Thanks for the information below, @Jeffredo :toast:

The i5-4590 is much smoother in my two main games - Skyrim and WoW. With Skyrim there were noticeable hard stutters/hitches on the G3258 that would drop the FPS from 60 to 48 (especially around Whiterun). With the i5-4590 there was only the tiniest little hesitation in those same areas on the same quality settings (so small as to be unnoticeable). With WoW in the new Warlords of Draenor expansion area I was able to run on the Ultra preset with 8x MSAA on the i5 (and stay nailed at 60 FPS). To keep 60 FPS on the G3258 I had to use CMAA and drop a couple of the quality settings (shadows, water and SSAO) from Ultra to High. This was with the G3258 @ 4.5 Ghz. Basically, the i5-4590 is a superior chip even though it can't be overclocked.

Oh, this was using a GTX 960 on both chips.
