GPU-Z stuck on logo screen

Guys I need your help. GPU-Z is stuck at load screen. I tried waiting it out for a few minutes and nothings happen. It's a freshly formatted laptop with XP 32-bit SP/3 on it. Here's the specs:

E2-1800 @ 1.7ghz
HD7340
driver version 14.4

If it matters, cpu usage utilization is hovering around 50%.

which version of GPU-Z did you use? If the recent one doesn't work try a older one see if it behaves?

I tried 8.4 and 8.2. I still haven't tried other lower versions though.

5.0 worked, barely. CPU usage remainded at 50% for this app alone. I'm getting white gui on the whole gpu-z interface from time to time.

I'm guessing this GPU is not supported or there is some conflict going on with the driver - try a different version of catalyst maybe? You may want to pm W1zzard

yup so it seems. I tried running gpu-z before installing the gpu driver and the latest version of gpu-z works right off the bat. After installing drivers, then goes back to being stuck at logo screen. I tried 14.4, 13.9, and 13.4 so far and I got no luck.

Well I decided to dump XP and get back to Windows 7 instead. I was just supposed to a make few benchmark runs for Hwbot. Truth is I've been figuring it out for a few days before posting the issue here. I thought it's not worth the hassle so I went back to 7 and resume normal operations

. I'll take note of that though and make sure I'll get you informed once I suddenly ran out of things to do and decided to try it again.

You should use latest AMD Radeon video drivers for best results. These are 15.7 currently.

And yes, WinXP is evil and way too old - do not use it.

How much RAM does your laptop have, by the way?

AMD cut XP support in their drivers since 14.4 I think so it's not like I had a lot of choice. It's not my laptop actually, it's my sisters'. It has 4gb of ram and I thought maybe I'd give it a spin and run a couple of benchmarks

Windows 8.1 or even 10 would work best on this laptop.

NOTE: Windows 8.1 consumes less resources than Windows 7 on the same hardware.
