Final Fantasy Dissidia on PsP had an awesome soundtrack

I used to leave these songs on repeat on while i was sleeping.

While not as great as some others that ive heard, its still an amazing peice of classical music if you look at it from that perspective.

Halo 4 and Halo Reach have some of the most moving tracks I have ever heard in a video game. I know that they get a lot of flak for not being true to the "real Halo games" (which have no real bonus value over 4 and Reach, since these two games are arguably more important than 2 and 3 in terms of lore value in the greater Halo universe), but I think the tracks in 4 that are composed by Jinnouchi (as well as Arrival and Requiem by Davidge) stay true to the O'Donnell and Salvatori legacy and even go beyond the scope of the two former composers in terms of depth. Reach wasn't a grand overture like Halo 3, because it was a story of the tragedy of Reach of the sacrifice of Noble Team, as opposed to Chief going around the galaxy and whupping a**. Halo 4 was similarly not about Chief being a one man army; instead, it focused on the personal relationship between Chief and Cortana and how while the UNSC was just coming together as the supreme military force in the galaxy, the Chief was really falling apart inside. For example, here are one of the most well known and one of the least well known tracks.

Next up is Project Reality, whose devs have to make do with limited resources since it is after all, only a mod (up until now, with the standalone v1.3). It has a diverse selection of tracks, some of which do not even appear in the OST album, simply because there are so many (not every map receives its own loading song, with some maps of similar setting sharing a same theme song).

When loading into Operation Archer (Canadian Army vs. Taliban), there is no other track I'd rather have playing.

Last but not least would be SC. The Brood War soundtrack was pretty famous for being dark and moody and perfectly suited to the gameplay style. Brood War-era Terran was a mix of raggedy-a**, hillbilly units, Brood War Protoss just seemed super ancient, and Brood War Zerg was straight-up creepy; the soundtrack was a reflection of this.

SC2, similar to H4, gets flak for being crappy and not as good as its predecessors. However, I still feel like it deserves a mention here, because its newfound backcountry sound is complementary to the Wings of Liberty campaign, in which Raynor is the centrepiece and is still very much the same rebel cowboy.

glad to see SMTN... when i left my PS2 to use my computer more i ripped all my disc to iso to replay them on PCSX2, just as i did with my PSP when i got my 1st Android phone capable of running PPSSPP at 60/60
