Looking to buy a new Mechanical keyboard

Can't think of any others at the moment bar ROSEWILL in America and i don't know enough about that to say good or bad.

My RK-9100 is basic but it's rock solid. I got it for 83 USD on sale IIRC. I took a gamble with Rosewill because their products have always been kind of "meh," but I took a leap because of the user reviews and price. For the price, it's a very solid keyboard. I was presently surprised when I got a keyboard with greater quality than I was expecting. It doesn't have many fancy features but, why should it? It's a keyboard... However the USB hub and braded cable is nice. I like solid construction. I don't like the idea of mini USB connectors for keyboards. Seems like a bad connection issue just waiting to happen.

That's hybrid capacitive, not mechanical. It's also expensive. I have a friend who has one of these and is happy with it:

Just want to tack on I bough a Deck Hassium Pro as mentioned above and this thing is awesome. My only complaint is the LED backlighting does not fully penetrate large letter keys like CTRL, and the font is slightly odd, but other than that, it's great!

It's also expensive, but the thing feels super solid. It also lets you choose your keyswitches. Being a Model M user I chose blues and I'm liking them pretty good.

that is pretty common on backlit keyboards like "Enter" instead of the return arrow. Deck Keyboards have nice double shot keycaps so it's worth it.

Yep, double shot PBT plastic IIRC. Pretty much the only manufacturer to do this.

I always wear out rubber dome keyboards within a year hehe

Pfft. Who needs keycaps that are labeled? You should know from muscle memory what buttons are which. If you type all the time like me and never look at a keyboard, something like this could be just as good.

On the contrary, I've has a tt esport keyboard (non mech) and its been used like 5 years and now the coating on the keys is wearing out and even the black coating too. So now some of my keys are completely red looking which is the Leds underneath

We were referring to the Deck keyboard. You pay a premium for those keycaps though.

They use their own keys and i don't know if they will stand the test of time but if i remember right they have 2 activation points so if one fails the other keeps the switch working. All so they are better lit as the led placement is different.

I had a black widow ultimate 2013 got rid of it and went with Ducky. I enjoyed it so much I got the DKS4 only recently. Some of teh guys in the mechanical keyboard thread might be able to help you out. I personally like ducky because I do alot of work at night and enjoy the back lights. The effects are nice but I never use them. however the function style media keys are nice. and honestly I really do enjoy that its basically a normal 108/k keyboard no WTF awesome 130/k KB with 9 rows of useless macro buttons and 133mb worth of software . It feels nice, it sounds nice, it looks nice, its built well, it allows me to open up my calculator and hit next on my media player. IMO after 25 or so the hype of crazy awesome chameleon status macro loaded 'gaming' keyboards wears off.

I vote for a Ducky as well. I have my Ducky Zero and it is awesome!!! No drivers, no frills, just plug it in and go.

I too have had a few BlackWidows over the years..... The last one I had was a 2013 Tournament Edition and through an update to Synapse, it borked my keyboard, a majority of the keys stopped working and Razer wouldn't replace it because they don't warranty their software...... >.<, The one before that was the Battlefield 3 Edition one, it was actually pretty good, with Razer it is a roll of the dice.... I have have had some good stuff from them.... mostly bad... but there have been some good.... such as my Deathstalker, Taipan, and original Orochi bluetooth mouse.
