I have a Shimian. Good monitor and very little light-bleed. I suggest you go for a "pixel perfect" version otherwise you'll most likely get a dead pixel or two.

dayum, arent you the helpful one. too bad for you, people already helped me without so much unneeded sarcasm

maybe go back to bed and wake up on the right side this time?
Yeah, well, I don't assume people asking questions on forums know what they are talking about. Sorry if you took offense - none was intended. I note many assume Samsung and LG are Chinese, or Japanese (like Sony), or even Taiwanese but not Korean.

sheeeeeit. thats a nice acquirement there man.

probs gonna do this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MTWO5B2/?tag=tec06d-20 ....being hardcore stingy after dropping $200 tho. will see how the wasabi mango's stand is and if i can live with it first.

That looks good and is way better than the stock one that comes with it. The stand is really the only bad thing about that Wasabi Mango. Its bad... like practically unusable, but you will love it with that 3rd party stand.

so the mango is VESA mount compatible then? i prefer having my monitor stand higher up so ill just drop the $38.
Yes it is. A few more things to expect -

The little stem for the stock stand just pulls off, you have to pull pretty hard but it will come right off so don't ruin it with a screw driver etc. just pull it off with your hand.

Also it will default to this weird dual monitor mode that will drive you crazy. Don't panic because it can be turned off. First look for the option to switch the menus to English. Then work on getting the weird dual screen thing off. It took me like 30 mins of messing with the menus to get it off but once you do you will never have to mess with it again. So don't freak out when you get that out of the box. I figure 30 mins of menu navigation is worth it for such a nice monitor at that price.

Enjoy.

I was in the same situation last weekend. I went with this Alloxx model. I'm assuming it's a Korean one as well, but there is absolutely nothing I could find about it. I wanted one with no scaler/multiple inputs, so there little to no input lag, and hopefully it overclocks as well. I liked that the seller is located in California if I have to ship it back. I bought the three year square trade warranty, and the total was $245. I will start another thread with a run down of everything once it arrives this Friday.

so all that can be accessed through the buttons on the monitor itself right?

Yes. The only external thing you will need is a little patience ;)

My WasabiMango got here in 3 days all the way from SK via DHL. So that's not really a factor. I love Amazon but the South Koreans have found a way to match it for the most part. And this a a 27" not a 25". Contrary to popular belief the smaller dimension takes away from the benefit of 2k, not improves it.

A 25" 2k monitor is a waste. You can't see enough of a difference. That would be like buying a 47" 4k TV, that's too small to see the benefit of the better resolution. If you want to stay with a small screen don't waste your money on more pixels.

I'm sure that's why this one is "cheap" on Amazon. No one who understands these higher resolutions would want it.

This sequence of words you've put together is utter nonsense. To speak so certainly whilst being so wrong is quite the achievement.

Jesus this forum gets worse everyday.

Little update in case anyone was going to try the Alloxx 1440p monitor. I may have just received a lemon, but this monitor is awful. The listing on ebay stated there would be DVI input only, but I received one with VGA, DVI, and HDMI, which is a completely different monitor than I was expecting. There are multiple dead pixels, and the corner is so bent, there is massive back light bleed. It's terrible, even for the Korean A- quality knockoffs.

I love my QNIX monitor. The stand isn't great, but it was actually better than I expected after reading the reviews. In fact the stand was just as sturdy as the 27" Samsung I had, or rather the Samsung was just as bad... Anyway, it isn't like my desk is constantly moving, so the stand is just fine.

As for the quality, I love it. I didn't get a pixel perfect panel, so I ended up with one stuck white pixel. Kind of annoying, but I got used to it. But I live with it because it easily overdrives to 120Hz.

I don't know what you think about Tek Syndicate, but those guys rave about this 4K monitor: https://teksyndicate.com/videos/a399u-affordable-4k-gaming-monitor

I purchased a Crossover 27" IPS 1440P monitor a couple of years ago and this monitor is still running great. Besides the single dead pixel it has, I have never considered getting another monitor.

The insane thing was, I purchased it over eBay on like a Thursday or a Friday, and the item was at my door the following Monday or Tuesday morning. I live in the USA and the monitor was in Hong Kong or something like that, and the shipping was free!

i just got the mango today and its awesome. absolutely beautiful visuals, no dead pixels or anything but i cant remove the stand arm from the monitor itself.

EDIT: got the stand arm removed. i had to take a butter knife to it. it would have taken the strength of thor himself to pull the stand out without assistance from some sort of prying implement.

EDIT2: the VIVO mount i got off amazon is absolutely amazing. very durable and heavy duty. you can feel that from the construction alone. the only problem was the screws provided were too long for the mango's thread holes so i had to go to home depot and pick up some washers. i used #6 size washers and put 3 on each screw. very firmly mounted now.

i definitely echo @Hawkstream on the stock stand quality. its bad! theres literally only 2 adjustable positions. its unusable! buy a vesa mount!

theres really no settings on these korean monitors, luckily you shouldnt need to care about that as the color reproduction is already pretty good out of the box. these monitors are normally discarded apple displays, and there are definitely some problems with them. for me personally my wqhd wasabi mango is really nice, but suffers from backlight bleeding during playing games with dark sequences, which takes a little getting used to. i havent seen any other flaws with it though.Really though for $199 shipped i wasnt expecting Dell Ultrasharp perfection, but i got about id say 85% perfect.

was able to oc it slightly to 72hz as well.

Thanks man!
well at first when I got it I couldn't get the DVI cable to work(I have a cheap one)so yesterday I went to toss out the box it came in and the DVI cable it came with looks better then mine. (as I couldn't get it to display in 1440, I got a parshall refund)but felt ripped off as I still paid $170 for a 1080P(they can be had for $100)so for chits n giggle's I hook up the DVI cable and boom I click over to the DVI input and its 2560X1440 native. So all is good or so it seems, long story (short version) I was using a 39"TV with 1080P display before this now at 2560X1400 and to be honest I can't see in game's(BF4) and though I suck already(I play to win Capture rounds not KDR camp)its even more pronounced now as the solders look like tinny dots . on the screen. After trying this for a few days, I'm gonna hook up the TV again see if it helps. Any ideals how to make this work for me? Or should i just use it at a higher resolution, I feel like I wasted my money really. But as I have the 2 780TI'S I know it can display well. I just suck and playing the game makes me not wanna play, what I have been doing in game is going to sniper then using the Binoculars to spot(then try switching without moving to get head shoots), I simply can't see a thing in game even my desk top the Icon's are super small. I must say it is super clean and colors are good if not better, I haven't noticed any edge bleeding(haven't gamed in a dark game yet) or it simply isn't there for me. I'm gonna read the whole thread see if I can find more stuff/tips.

Just to add, I do notice now my frames are butter smooth(though I haven't looked at my frame rate)where as before on 1080P I seemed to be lagging/slow. Now I seem to be in fast forward...

Now I seem to be in fast forward...

very strange. i have to go to work like right now but when i get off this'll be something to think about. though, 1440P is supposed to look a ton smaller, what with the pixel density and all. have you tried enlarging the icons and text through the windows settings? did you change the resolution through the display properties in windows, or did the monitor auto change it itself? if it was the latter, that may be the problem.

I can live with the Icons being small, simply put I'm old and my eye's aint so good no more so In game it suffers.
