Hello everyone,
I've recently purchased the Asus Strix 980 Ti, but I have some questions as I didn't find anywhere a solution.
So, first one, why in GPU-Z is it showing only DX11.2? Shouldn't it be DX 12? (Windows 10 is the operating system)
Second, I see that the bus interface is just at PCI E3.0 @ x8, and that is all the time, it never changes to x16 as it should. Even, in full load it stays that way.
I installed another software, SS Sandra, just to confirm it reports the same specs.
It says:
" System Bus 1
Type : PCIe 3.00 x8 2.5Gbps
Multiplier : 3x
Bridge : Intel Core (Haswell) PCI Express x16 Controller
Device Connected : ASUS GM200 [GeForce GTX 980 Ti]
Performance Enhancing Tips
Warning 1204 : Link speed lower than maximum supported. Device may be in low-power mode.
Warning 1207 : Link width lower than maximum supported. Device may be in low-power mode.
Warning W1204 - This device seems slow. While this does not hamper the bus speed directly transactions with this device will take longer and thus reducing the overall efficiency.
Fix: You cannot fix this - but keep it in mind when buying your next device. "
I tried to deactivate the powersavin in windows profile for the PCIe. I even tried to activate "Prefer maximum performance" in nVIDIA Control Panel-> Power Management Mode, but it's the same. The only difference was "PCIe 3.00 x8 8Gbps" (opposed to 2.5Gbps)", but as you can see it stayed at x8.
Please clear these things, as I don't know if this is about a faulty GPU, software, or event the motherboard itself.
Thank you!
