Hello, i need to learn which psu method will be better here are the pics,

first one is giving Amper from single channel and second one giving it by double channel. Please don't let numbers get your attention, what i want to know is which is better, double channel or single channel?

Generally speaking one, but that entirely depends on the size of the psu and how it's handled. The big PSU's have 100A on the 12V line and I personally wouldn't mind that kind of current being split up.

personally I prefer single rail PSU's but only because I have had multi rails in the past coupled with power eating graphics cards that have eventually broke rails. Not so much an issue with high output PSU's with high amperage on each of it's rails though.

What kind of PSUs? As long as you're in spec it shouldn't be a problem. Some multi rails (when it was a marketing gimmick) hsd strange rail configurations though...

Just go with a single rail... Less to worry about. With the protection circuitry in a MODERN, QUALITY PSU, chances are slim it will take everything out with it.

Wrong. You can't just look at the brand and think..yeah i'll blindly take that one. I have a Corsair, i also have experience with Seasonic psu's . For example ,as it turns out the CX version of Corsair that i own ...it's actually not that good. There is no all around brand or product, you really need to do the homework before a purchase.
That being said i can't help you OP. But i like your profile image. It's very good.

Don't forget Antec, XFX and EVGA too. Corsair hasn't been very impressive lately with their mid-range offerings that these companies all do pretty well at.

Oh, and FSPs are excellent; they are a large OEM that many other PSUs are based off of. Lian-Li bundles them with some of their cases if that tells you anything!

OP I would consider less the number of rails and more the total combined +12V output power. One or two rails is most of what you'll see nowadays and either is OK.

I currently use a split 12v rail PSU. It doesn't really matter too much, what is more important is that your components are being fed by a stable PSU that can feed them what they need without being overloaded. If you want a recommendation, list your specs and budget and we can help.

Do you mean only TX series that have noise problem? So im fine to go on with VS series?

TX series are good. I've had my TX850 for nearly 12 years.

There it is again... good because it works :shadedshu:. Also, Enermax had some hit and miss PSUs... as was mentioned earlier you cannot go blindly by brand.

TX series was an average PSU when it came out several years ago. There are better, more modern units available.

Yes, if a power supply works for 12 years without dying then I agree, that is a GOOD power supply.

I don't know what else you'd call it!

Ive had shit rated PSUs work for several years...I have had shit PSUs take down entire systems and start fires (not that the TX is crap.. its average as I said earlier.. its a OLD design though). There is more to a PSU than it 'working'. Ripple, transient response, quality of internals. Not everyone needs a tier 1 PSU, I agree, but, there are more modern and better PSUs available than the TX series circa 2008. At least grab a v2 from 2011... :)

Oh, it ought to be dead! It has taken a toll many times, where standard PSU's would just fail after a few weeks, months, or years. Yet it's still working like a charm - knock on wood. TX/CS series are a great investment and they've gotten even better over the years.

You're a nutjob. No one is "blindly" thinking... this is by experience, knowledge and knowing the companies.

Whatever buddy, corsair, enermax and seasonic have been in the PSU business longer than others have. They've proven their worth. A TX series PSU is corsairs premium bread winner, and no one is going 'strictly' by 'brand,' it's called acknowledging a companies level of service for a product. Also, no one is suggesting the OP purchase a decade old PSU...

You purchase a shit PSU, you're just asking for it and just stupid doing so. A PSU is an investment, the same with computer components... if you choose cheap, then you have only yourself to blame. I had this same exact argument with some allybum about rated load, and power factors a few years ago and not about to write a novel.

OP: focus on well known PSU's, don't buy cheap... and make sure it's Certified. It's better to pay a premium to protect your investment, than having to loose it, a home, or a life because of a cheap PSU. :)

The ax/axi's are corsairs' high end psus. The cx was bottom basement and some had issues(still plenty serviceable). The TX line is old, circa 2008 and 2011 and were more know as a bang for your buck, solid psu. There was nothing premium about the TX line. That was reserved for ax/axi.

As I said Enermax had some decent psus some were duds.

Focus on QUALITY PSUS as well known doesn't mean good... Raidmax is well known and nearly all their psus are better for starting fires than powering pcs. Rosewill is well known and outside of two lines, they are ok at best.. fire starters at worst.

I'm really sorry about being pedantic, but blanket statements aren't always helpful. It's best to rely on reviews from jonnyguru, tpu, hard, those that REALLY know how to test a psu. ;)

If I had to but a psu on brand alone, it would be seasonic or zippy though. I don't ever recall a dud there. Even antec had a line or so that was below average.

i wish i had chance to get one of those brands but my only options were corsair, xigmateg and zalman (with single rail) so i decided on corsair vs650 80+ certificate. i'll say that i didn't have any problems yet, its not making such noise (maybe because of my pc total psu usage is 375W, i'll see when i get a new gpu.) Thanks a lot ladies and gantlemens.

Single rail. 80+ gold. Probably Seasonic guts. Picked my XFX because it's a rewrapped Seasonic, but fully modular. I'd also consider modular, get rid of extra unneeded cables...

Things to watch when buying PSU

- Manufacturer. NOT BRAND.
- Caps. Avoid Chinese/CapXon junk, look for high rated japanese ones.
- 80+ bronze or better, but bronze is fine unless you run a very hungry system
- You get what you pay for, don't be cheap, or you get cheap and unstable/unreliable
- Check legitimate reviews and avoid budget lines unless they are well reviewed (Antec's VP line is an example of this)
- When getting more than single rail, check your amps on both rails with your equipment + future plans, nothing as annoying as replacing PSU because you buy a new GPU.
- Always have sufficient (20% or so) headroom. Every PSU that is delivering 100% load will get hot and noisy. At that point the PSU noise drowns out everything else, making your nice silent components obsolete. PSU's also lose some juice over time as components degrade, although this is very slight, a system running on edge will be pushed over it in due time.
- Get the latest ATX spec, so your system will hibernate and use C-states correctly. This means, don't get an ancient PSU.

Thank you for this much information in one post. Also wanna add that my system uses 375W total and my new psu is in the link please share your thoughts. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vs-seriestm-vs650-650-watt-power-supply
