Hello all who are reading or passing by! First link is the original build that I was going for but wanted feedback and upgrades. SECOND Link above is an upgraded version from these fellow nice TPU people of my pcpartlist or computer build. Anyways, I am very new/average about computer hardware parts and here to buy/test/learn about computers. This computer is hugely for gaming especially for TERA and uploading games for youtube.
Do not worry about the graphic card and watt because I already have GTX 960 2gb ssc atx 2.0
and 500 watt.

All I want is if this build is good, (and also to see if I did this right
) but if you can upgrade this much much better than what i made, then please do so, so i can get the best out of my money!

I also do not know if I need to buy windows 7/8 or basically an OS if I were to do this and please tell me if I can get it free or how much it is.

I'd prefer if it was in 450-500$ range for this build but shouldn't be a problem if i can add another 50$.

Yes I do need a monitor but everything else like mouse/keyboard/speakers/headset, I have it covered.

Just an extra info here but this is almost or exact same copy of the post I did in Tomshardware.com but reason I do this is to see peoples opinion and their builds and why they build it that and obviously of course is to get the best out of my money. ^.^ (Techpowerup responds faster woot woot)

Link here to my post in tomshardware: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2780318/400-450-budget-review-pcpartlist.html

Everything below is updated stuff from nice fellow TPU's ------------------------------------------

My PSU 500 watt is a Inland 500w silver series
ATX ILS-500R2 power supply 39.99 on box but receipt says 27.99 ( I am definitely going to return this back to MC for a better psu for my build)

SECOND link is what I am going for now, and seems like the best for this budget of mine that was 400-450 but now almost 530$,(man budget comps for modern games are op)

REMINDER!!! This build is without the GPU as title says also but I already have a gpu (GTX 960 2gb ssc) ALSO IN THIS BUILD I NEED A MONITOR

Total so far is 530$ but with gpu is 700+

I've never heard of a computer component called a "watt". Is it the power supply that you're referring to? In any case, it sounds like it's shit, but it's your call whether you want to gamble your entire system on a potentially iffy power supply. I don't think I would be using a $28 PSU, unless it was one of EVGA's budget 400W/430W units.

If it were up to me, I wouldn't let any sub-500W budget power supply get near my power-hungry AM3+ CPU and motherboard. Replace it for a EVGA 500B, XFX TS550 or Corsair CX600M at the very least. @Kevin vang

As I am new to computer and want to learn a bit about it, what would be the best power supply for this computer build of mine?

What country do you live in?

Do you live by a Micro Center?

I suggest you consider a different PSU

I would go with a Intel H81 + Pentoum G3258 with that budget

I envy you. Go with Intel not AMD and a better PSU. The CX600 is fine

Half of all people on tomshardware don't know an ounce of what they're talking about. At least we can correct such mistakes here at TPU when they spring up.

Alrighty...So I did some guessing and some pin pointing reading tab to tab and found the stuff, total is about 500$ because of the Operating System but no problems with me at all.

If i missed anything tell me and also what would be an upgrade to my cpu IF i wanted to spend a bit more in the intel section?

Since im lazy and also want my computer soon or now :p anyone from or goes to microcenter alot or really any stores that are like MC, know if they do have all of these parts or comparable?

@Kevin vang you're going to need to check if the H97M Pro allows for G3258 overclocking if that's what you want to do. Many boards do but you should still check just to be safe.

I've Heard that for the G3258 to overclock on Windows 10 is very hard or impossible as it is only 60$ and is almost the same as the i7 or i5 on a video since i might turn into 10 as i already have it on this family comp but im a fan of win 7 so imma stay a while. Besides that I will definitely look into the motherboard i have currently or other motherboards that can help overclock my cpu. Thanks for telling me, much appreciated!!

if its the Asrock H97m Pro 4 your speaking about, it DOES allow some OC functions, i own that board.

Well, here's my take. MS should be fixing G3258 OC for Windows 10 soon, because not doing so is uncharacteristically irresponsible of a large company. However, if you don't want to OC, you could look into an i3. I presume that you're using this rig for gaming. The G3258 overclocks well, but at the end of the day, it's still a dual core CPU with no hyperthreading, so regardless of how high its single core performance gets with OC, some multithreaded games just won't do well at all. The i3 offers an extra bit of peace of mind in those games, although it's still no i5; still, there aren't any games that straight up refuse to run on an i3 and it's still a bit cheaper than the i5. A lot of people overlook the fact that i3s are capable gaming CPUs and can comfortably handle anything up to a R9 290 without (noticeable) bottlenecks.

Just another option for you.

Reading that gave me alot of info and a brain headache but anyways, How long will a I3 last for modern games or in general than the G3258 am i better off just saving for an I5? Honestly I just want the easy way out and not have to worry much but as this is a budget build I want the minimum worries to keep upgrading.

A lot of people advocate for the G3258 ==> i5-4690K / i7-4790K route, but in the end, you're paying more than you would for the i5-4690K / i7-4790K alone.

1. Staying within $450? Go with a G3258 or i3-4130/4150/4160/4330 if your budget allows, and hang in there with no upgrade.

2. Want to try out overclocking and upgrade to a better CPU? Go with a G3258 and buy a 4690K / 4790K when the time comes.

3. "Screw the budget, I'm not changing anything" Buy a 4690K / 4790K and call it a day.

Keep in mind that Haswell is no longer the primary family for mainstream products from Intel; if you decide to get a G3258 and wait for an upgrade, the 4690K and 4790K may no longer be selling when you decide to buy an upgrade.

Option #2 and #3 require that you buy a Z97 board if you wish to continue experimenting with overclocking on a 4690K / 4790K.

A Pentium dual core and 960 will do fine on any game. But worth it in the end. Anything more just becomes how much money do you have. Also the G3258 at $60 will hold its value so going to an i5 later is fine.

This ain't toms hardware. We have the intelligence necessary to judge for ourselves whether a thread needs to be taken any further.

Totally agree!! A number of i3's are perfectly good for gaming. I just installed a 4160 for a W10 project, and I'm loving it! It also has the advantage of working in multithreaded games that refuse to acknowledge the G-3258.
