High Capacity HDD
980Ti

If you need more memory drop more in later just grab 2x8gb kit for the time being or grab the Crucial 2133 32kit for $150 ish
Thanks for the awesome reply. Question, and anyone feel free to jump on here. Is the new architecture of the 980Ti worth the price tag? On benchmarks alone a GTX 980, even 970 are fairly comparable with a nice price drop. For clarification I am also looking at computing numbers, mainly OpenCL, OpenGL, 3D oriented stuff.

if i HAD to buy a workstation, or even a gaming build, I'd just buy one of THESE or one of THESE and modify with the remaining budget. If any modification even needed to be done. Just my 2 cents.

there are Thousands for sale on newegg, and other retailers, that come with Every option configuration.

Any suggestion for a possible i7 6700K alternative?

Due to its immense unavailability right now and school starting tomorrow, I plan on trying to hold off and still purchase it but I probably can't hold off 4 weeks, unless I could make do with my current machine at home it really all depends on what projects we may be working on. A backup plan would probably be a good idea.
