I purchased a GTX 980 Poseidon but everytime i connect my Yamakasi Catleap Q270 or my Philips 221EL monitor using the DVI port with the same Belkin Pro DVI-D cable or a Belkin DVI to HDMI Adapter i get no output on my screens, but if I connect my Philips on the HDMI with the adapter in my monitor everything works fine i get 1920x1080@60hz no issues.

What can cause this problem?

I am using Nvidia Driver 355.82

my MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G don't have this problem with this Belkin Pro DVI-D Cable so i think it's GFX problem.

i have a GTX 980 Poseidon and i use the bundled DVI cable that was with a ASUS VS24H on my Philips 27E3LH no issues here ...

tried on my 2 other monitor no issues aswell, since you tested on 2 monitor and a Philips like mine ... i don't really know what to think ... if the issue was only with the Yamakasi i would understand

do you have another DVI cable to test?

How can i do that, when windows can't even see anything is connected to it, and the same with Nvidia control panel???

I would try and get a new cable , straight DVI-D to HDMI (got one with my BX2450) no converters.
Possible the dvi converter with an hdmi cable could be at fault ??
, so maybe better to try a premade cable .

The Asus Poseidon does have and DVI-I so there should be no issue there, will support analog and digital

Just for a matter of interest ,from Nvidia site.

"NVIDIA based graphics cards which carry a DVI-I connector are fully compatible with flat panel LCD monitors which typically have DVI-D cables. The DVI-D cable will only read the digital signal from the DVI-I connector on the graphics card and ignore the analog signal. If your NVIDIA based graphics card features two video out connectors (ie VGA + DVI), it does not necessarily mean that it will support dual monitors at the same time. Some NVIDIA based graphics cards will look similar to Figure 2 which features a DVI-D connector as well as a VGA connector. These cards generally will only support a single display at a time, not dual monitors. The reason for having two different type of connectors is to allow you to connect either an analog or a digital display to your PC. "

Connect one monitor to theHDMI port so that you get a picture and the other on to the DVI port. Even if you can't see a picture on it, Windows should detect it and have it show up in the graphics driver control panel. You can then set the video mode for that display - in particular the refresh to 60Hz. If for some reason Windows is thinking that it can work at, say, 144Hz, but it cannot, then you may well get a blank screen.

Also, try another DVI cable, as it could well be bad and prevent Windows from detecting a monitor.

Tell me, has either monitor been firmware flashed or modified in any way?

I tried but, Windows only detects the monitor connected to HDMI not even under startup does DVI port give any display.

Nope monitors haven't been firmware updated how can u even do that? and modded no, never had them opened...

But the seller has agreed to give me back my money and i will return the card tomorrow.

The DVI ain't faulty it works in the monitor if i put it onto the DVI port there and uses the HDMI cable from the GTX 980 so it's not that and everything works great with my MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G so i guess there is smth wrong read about a lot of users having trouble with their GTX 980 getting to display on DVI and DP ports.

It does sound like you could have a faulty 980 then. :ohwell: As a last ditch grasping at straws attempt, you could try putting the 980 in another slot, although I can't see this being the issue.

btw, it's not that unheard of for video ports to be flaky: I bought three 9800 GX2 cards at one point on eBay (not all at the same time) which I then flogged for a higher price. The point being that if the PC was started without the monitor being connected (DVI) then connecting it afterwards would give no picture, no matter what I did. I had to restart the PC for it to work. All three cards did this, a really stupid and annoying design fault that I'm surprised NVIDIA would allow to get through. Perhaps it was due to them having two GPUs, dunno.

Those Catleap monitors can sometimes be modded to accept a higher refresh rate aka "overclocking". One would run a special program to do this and if the monitor has USB ports may have to be connected through this. It's risky doing this and would void your warranty.

The model i got is the 2b model but it's automaticly set to 60hz when connecting a new GFX, but it's a bad GFX since i can get no adapter to work on the dvi port but hdmi works fine with the same adapter in the monitor.
