I have a gtx 750 ti and I was wondering if it was worth spending the 200 or so dollars and upgrading to gtx 960

Right now everything is a bit old but its goal is to be computer for free gaming and older games.

There are a lot of 2.5GHz quad cores. Is this an old Phenom I or a modern CPU? What size/resolution monitor are you using? What games do you play? Fundamentally, how does it *feel* to use? I'm still using a pair of 8800GTs because for the games I play they're entirely sufficient at 1080p. No need to upgrade them when I can get solid FPS and quality settings.

But if you can't figure out how to get your specs I'm not sure about your ability to install it?

I wouldn't buy a GTX 960 for an old Q8300.

You said the build is for older and/or free games, may I know what old or free game is not pleased with a 750 Ti?
What power supply do you have? And I want the exact model, don't tell me "a 500w".
Do you have decent cooling? Can you overclock the C2Q?

Tera is the main game I had in mind
The PSU is a cooler master 500 its been a while sense I got it and was gonna upgrade before a new CPU and mother board come into play

I would think what you have should work pretty good.. Unless Tera got a big graphics overhaul or something.

Tera isn't heavy on GPUs and should be fine unless OP is running maxed 1440p.

A 960 is roughly on pair with a GTX 670. I think its the max GPU that a C2Q can handle IF its overclocked at 3.2 GHz at least.

I currently have on my second rig a C2Q Q9450 @3.2 GHz with a GTX 560 TI OC (close performance of a 750 TI). A 670/960 is around the double of our GPU's and seriously doubt that even my C2Q would benefit much from a powerful GPU. If you have full HD and plan to play at 1920x1080 for example, more GPU is nice, if you play at lower resolutions it won't matter much since lower resolutions require more CPU power than CPU.

My advice at this time would be to keep an eye for some used i5 2500/3470/3570/4460/4670 with motherboard included, and possibly 8 RAM already since Skylane was released a few weeks ago there will always be some willing to sell to buy the newst stuff. After that wait until AFTER christmas )jend of january/february) and buy the GPU a used 670 will be on pair with a 960 though for very good price but no warranty ofc.
