Needing advice on gpu

Hi.

I am rebuilding a sff low profile Dell optiplex dual core rig for some internet stuff, movies and older games.

I need a pci-e graphic car that has low profile but also sucks really low power. The psu on this optiplex is different so i cant replace it with a regular one and the psu itself is only 250w. The cpu is a E6300 or E2180 it will depends since I have both of them. For now I only have regular 3.5 sata disk but to lower the power consumption I could install with time and money a good 2.5 laptop drive with an adapter so it could give more wattage available to the graphic card.

I'd look at the GTX 750. It's about the best performing gpu that does not require a PCI-Express power connector.

I think its overkill for this older setup. no? Especially when the price of the GPU is more thant the whole system.

Get a used Wolfdsle, shouldn't cost much. The Zotac above is the new one based on the GT630, if the 730 has a 128 bit bus it's a rebranded GT 430 (yes). I had the 530 (the same) and could actually play the latest WoW expansion with it and a e8400. You could get an R7 240, dunno how it stacks up against the 64-bit GT 730 though...

Lool for noise levels btw. My 530 was a bit of a screamer.

$70? And it's about the same performance as the HD 5870, which I ran in my C2D system back in the day.

Can you give us an idea of what kind of performance you're expecting? For that generation of older games, I'm guessing we're talking around 9800GT levels of performance?

Here is a new system pull low-pro HD 7570 with 1GB GDDR5 for $40. Slightly faster than the good ol' 9800GT. TDP ~50W

I'd pick up the 7570, unless you really wanted low power consumption.
