Hey guys, I've had my desktop for 2 years now and only recently have my monitor gone black screen on me and back to boot logo as if I've turned on and off my machine - only problem is that I didn't. I've noticed that I can play video games for some time without the machine going that, but when I'm doing stuff like web browsing and homework it automatically "shuts down" and restarts. Could it be that my GPU/Mobo is fried? I've opened my case today and cleaned the dust, along with unplugging and pluggin back the PSU cable to the motherboard.

Download bluescreenview, see if there's anything in there (it will show if you've had BSOD) and if so, tell us what it is.

Ah, those are all x124 BSOD. Have you done any overclocking, even automatic overclocking?

What version of Windows are you running? I've read that W10 can use more agressive/different power saving profiles that can actually make the system unstable due to lack of voltage. @OneMoar might know more about this, IIRC he posted a thread about just that a little while ago.

Hmm I think I enabled AMD Overdrive in the Catalyst Control Center, but I turned it off so it shouldn't be affecting me, should it?

Some people reported similar power related stuff in W10 before. System restarts instead of shutdown, system won't sleep or even random shutdowns. Do you have all updates/driver installed? You can dual boot with Windows 8 and see if problems occurs there too

I forgot to mention that this problem began to occur on windows 8.1 around 1 month before I upgraded to Windows 10. I've updated my GPU drivers to the latest drivers.

I see. Did you check eventvwr to see what process failed right before system crash? Usually that info won't tell anything useful, like crashdumps but it won't hurt to check nonetheless

Type in : "eventvwr.msc" in the run box without quotes. It will bring up the event viewer. Check the application logs, and the system logs.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be faulty PSU.
Also after updating to Win10 i had to lower the CPU overclock because i experienced frequent restarts.

Ahh, so I should replace my PSU to something new, but keep the same 500w or increase it? I don't have my cores overclocked.
