Console games quality on a PC monitor not good...?

Same reason why LCD TV's have larger input delay. Because image has to pas through all the filters and image enhancing algorithms, which obviously take time to process. For TV programs, you don't really notice it unless you have a really crap TV next to it which has less delay because of less image processing. It's just delayed. But for games, since you're actively participating in it, input delay matters.

So, the only "fix" for this, is just playing on a TV or deal with it i supose.

You could get an external scaler like this but it may cost you more than a new monitor/TV.

Pretty much, yes. Monitors are designed to run native resolution at all times and the rest (like images and movies) are scaled on the fly with better scaling algorithms within OS itself.

TV's however always assume the signal is less than ideal and they process it by upscaling and interpolating details. There is no easy way coming around that. Even TV's set to Gaming mode which usually involves minimal image processing to decrease input lag does far more sophisticated scaling than any monitor.

There are monitors with TV tuners that would probably solve that, but also introduce pretty high input lag since they usually aren't meant for console gaming...

I've gotten used to the ease of having a TV, esp since I do everything on one display, including watching TV. I used to be tempted by the idea of using a monitor with a TV tuner card, but they are not well software supported, and there's SO much more a TV does besides receiving TV broadcasts. I would quickly get irritated by the monitor's shortcomings.

The ideal would be having a Freesync capable TV with a 24Hz-120Hz refresh range, and Picture in Picture that supports simultaneous PC and TV signals onscreen at the same time, but I'm not counting on that happening.
