Beta is rubbish, it's not broken so its functional but it gets way too boring fast. Not a fan of the graphics options at all! The graphics themselves are okay but look a bit plastic imo. Partical effects and tessellation are good depending on what map your on.

The view has a sort of spherical effect to my eyes and its fucking annoying.
A lot of the options are just bundled into post processing quality; DOF, motion blur and distortion should not be one setting! I don't want the graphics to bloody warp when i run or even just move, it's some shitty distortion stretch effect. DOF is annoying in this game as is it in most games and so is the motion blur on everything. How about that whole tub of vaseline i smeared on your lovely looking game engine eh? I'm having a hard time judging 3D space in this game too, the depth is plain weird. Anti Alaising options suck too as its either low, medium or high FXAA or FAA.

Sounds are okay, no where near as mindblowing as the fanboys are saying neither are the graphics although i'll need to try the Hoth vehicle level as the tessellation and shit is meant to be good on that.

Gameplay is a bit shit, i don't like the card system and the having to wait for a card to charge. Rather they kept the class system of the older titles or just did it like Battlefield did but too late for that. Hope they kept the matchmaking system for the retail release as it's awful without one. Didn't feel there was any curve difficulty curve like Battlefield for example.

EDIT: The spherical effect suddenly disappeared, might have been an FOV bug as the FOV slider is working as it should be. Turning down the post processing option to medium alleviated some of the crappy effects i wanted off but still they should be separate options. Gameplay is still boring.

Wow that gave me a good laugh.

Just tested out survival mode and the pod defense mode. Game runs great on my 970... didn't seem to move from 59fps. Running on High settings all around, basically didn't change any settings.

IGN reports the extended beta period has a downside: players who connect might experience connectivity issues from October 12 Monday through October 13 Tuesday, as the extended period was meant for technical tests.

Honestly though, after my previous comment, I tried out the AT&T assault mode, and I am not sure if it was just the players causing the match to be so bad or what, but litterally the spawns WERE AWFUL, and I was getting wrecked over and over each time I spawned, an ATST was there to blow me away each time. Was quite frustrating, but I am not gonna let that one bad match shape my opinion to much, DICE has even announced they are aware the AT&T assault map is quite unbalanced.

It shouldn't be that way in a multiplayer game though. There needs to be a degree of balance. I have won 98% of my matches as the imperials, and if there's a slight chance I win as rebels, is because the team us doing it right. Get the uplinks then defend heavy.

Not enough people go for the objective as rebels. And then as imperials they have everything.

I do enjoy this game but there are some flaws to be sure but not enough to steer me away from buying it. At first I was a little skeptical about the gun "Overheat" system instead of ammo but I've gotten used to it and its not a bad system, the special weapons like grenades and the cycler rifle are a bit annoying and to easy to spam so they either need a longer cool down or a real ammo system for those, the Walker mode is a little too biased for the imperials (Its not impossible to win as the rebels but it is much more difficult), and I am not a big fan of the vehicles/turrets in their current states (Maybe it was just me but some of the vehicles and turrets accuracy was questionable).
I do however think the graphics are great, the guns handle well (Albeit the DH17 is clearly the best weapon), the game modes released so far are fun, and I rather enjoyed the power up system using pickups.

Rebel win would be easier for squad work. All you need is combined X-wing and turret firepower when shields are down. If you get an orbital bombardment pick up, you keep it till then too.
Granted, if rebel players are going to run about like fannies going 'pew pew' its over before it begins

Yeah it basically comes down to: if you have a bunch of kids on the team that are there to run around and spam their gun to get kills, or actual tactical players who take cover and actually defend real objectives for their team.

This lol... it seems to be the case in the 1 match i played on the assault map.

I actually enjoyed both the other game types, survival and the pod capture mode, one thing that was a bit annoying on the pod capture mode is how there is basically unlimited ways to flank the enemy, but thats a double sided sword, it can work to my advantage also. On the other hand, the detail level and size of the maps is pretty awesome. Interested to see the full line up of maps.

Hopefully, since this is a star wars series game, I really hope they add a single player story mode down the line. Would really set the game over the top, now being dice, it will probably be a DLC you have to buy or something. I guess we can only wait and see.

Oh yeah, and the DH17 needs to be nerfed... I forget the name, but I was liking the standard storm trooper rifle the most, has a good combo of fire rate and accuraccy .

I missed the AT&T assault mode. Those bastards tried to charge me for a cable box I gave back. Would have loved to fly an X-Wing into their headquarters.

That's true but even so its a little unbalanced currently more in favor of the Imperials. My problem is that most of it comes down to the beginning where if you don't do pretty well at the beginning lines its very hard to make a comeback. Out of all the games I have played the only one I won as rebels was won on the second wave after doing very well with the first round. Normally if we get to the third wave I see the AT-AT's have way to much health to the point it no longer matters what you do (Unless your entire team has air strikes at the end or something like that.

Other than that though its pretty fun to play even when you lose! I love it way more than Battlefield Hardline for sure!

Well the single player mode in the beta was just a co op survival mode. BUt it does seem like there will be some missions based out of the movies of some sort.

Question here, anyone else paid attention to the DLC scheme?

$50 for a season pass.

That means a "complete" game is going to cost $110. I can't even express how screwed up that is in Pounds and Euros. Anyone actually willing to get this game on launch day, after weighing that price versus the experience with the beta?

*God I hope this is the franchise that EA finally gets the ire of consumers on, and this BS DLC starts to go away.*

Im not buying it at launch, and im also not buying the Seasons pass till the first DLC comes out.
