They would cut down on vibration which is a big factor on the amount of noise produced. They wont effect the loudness of the fan when it comes to air flow and motor wine.

these work great for me, i have 2 noiseblocker xl2 on a acrylic side, and they did a lot of noise duo to vibration mostly
