My Club3D Royalqueen 265 is rattling. It's not particularly loud, but it's always present. When the fans ramp up under load, the frequency of the rattling (which is very systematic) increases and becomes even more annoying.

My card looks like

and it is not the old straight rebrand of the 1-fan HD 7850 RQ.

Is it a viable solution to try to separate the heatsink from the plastic housing and do something along the lines of what this guy did with his GTX 750 Ti? I would be using an A9x14 fan too.

I tried to find the size of the fans and failed :banghead:, you could buy some replacement fans or try something like i did with a gtx550 ti i had laying around :rockout:.

My modded gtx 550ti

Possible replacement fans

Possible replacement fans 2

Edit: they are either 75 or 80mm and they look pretty much like my club3d r9 290 royalace fans which i think im sure have 3x80mm.

My 7850 did the same thing so I removed the fan a while back but now I'm running my 7850 in a similar state.

just remove the shroud(should be screws on bottom of the heatsink) then remove the fan and check the model number online to see the amperage and size(maybe 85mm?), you will also need a 4 pin to mini 4 pin.

hardest part will probably be mounting the noctua, you usually have to get a bit creative to mount the fan.
