Got bored, started stealing people's fusion cores, and then their power armor.

Did u turn on the PF? Any more crashes?
PF?

I found power armor off some raiders.

No more crashes, I've tried even at max resolution but game is more fluid at 1080p for me. Am really enjoying it now.

Sorry, back on topic. That list of bugs is pretty generous. Perhaps, now that Bethesda is confirming them, somebody would like to tell me I don't have any clue as to what I'm talking about?
Unfortunately that list is as unofficial as can be. It only was posted by a moderator, who is not affiliated with Bethesda at all. Don't hold your hopes up :p See what the first post-release beta patch fixes? Just one thing :p

I think even if you disable the page file in your settings. It will automatically create a certain sized one if it absolutely needs to use it

So I stole 6 suits of power armor from the BoS, which evidently led to a glitch where one of them disappeared. I went back to the Prydwen, stole another, came back to Sanctuary and found that the one that disappeared evidently spawned a whole Knight inside of it and started walking away.

EDIT: Holy shit, guys, magic power armor spawning Brotherhood

The same crafting system from Fallout 3?

I'm sorry, but the only way 3 surpassed New Vegas was in bug hilarity. You've got some rosy glasses to say otherwise. If you don't believe me, go back and play them again. I am inside New Vegas, after completing 3, and there's no contest. If you'd like to argue, then make it about your perception. Stating that, as a fact 3 was better because it pioneered systems is foolish. By that logic, you should prefer System Shock 2 above any of the Bethesda Fallout games. All of the mechanics found in Fallout 3 were pioneered there.

I'm not stating facts but my opinions coming from my experience with both games. Everyone's always saying NV was better, mostly it was a 'better' game, but I somehow found the 'lesser' one that came before more appealing. Let's just stop here and agree to disagree.

On topic: Is there no wait button anymore? Needed a quick fix and couldn't wait at the door all night, had to find a bed..

Fusion cores seem easy to farm. Get your pick-pocketing to lvl 3 and you can sneak up to Brotherhood of Steel NPCs and steal the Fusion Cores right out of the suits they're walking in. They'll then power down and get out of their suit and walk off, allowing you to steal some upgrades while you're at it.

Nah, dunno why u think that but it's not true...
Much fud was spread in the past regarding page files, most of what you hear is bullshit so can be safely ignored. . :p

The only real truth is make sure u have enough RAM.

Okay, I think I have this figured out.

Every time I travel to Sanctuary two NPCs (a Knight and a Knight Captain) try to take 2 of my hard-earned stolen Brotherhood suits. If I leave the cores in they have no problem walking away with them, but if I take the cores out they can only take them for a joy ride after their inventory respawns (since their inventory spawns with a core).

EDIT: putting them all inside 4 walls and a door did not help.

If I buy a boxed copy, will it tie into my Steam account for good and then I dont have to worry about the DVD anymore?

Yup, the DVD version of the game doesn't even have all the game data, some will have to be downloaded from steam in order to play.

Correct. That's how all dvd hard copy games that require Steam work. The advantage (for me at least), is install is alot faster than the download, and necessitates a much smaller download after install.

After, you will never need the DVD again, unless you want to reinstall that way down the road. I normally do, again, quicker than downloading the whole game for me.

Well.... Just because I was curious... I did a test with GTA V... I know its a different game.... but still. I completely disabled my paging file, and when I restarted my rig and launched GTA V it automatically created a paging file......

It has about 5.5GB on the disk, then you will download the other ~20GB from Steam. I just did it yesterday.

Seconded. I really liked the vibe, the narrative and the whole feel of the game world much more in Fallout 3. Much more variation and interesting stuff to explore. Fallout NV felt like, played like walking around in arid landscape or desert, which is ofcourse what it is, but it detracted from the overall feel of the game imo. Coupled with the odd take on Vegas, meh, I didn't really like the setting much at all. I was really missing the military ingredients that FO3 had so much more of, the sense of mystery and exploration was greater in FO3. And Fallout 4 seems to be going back to that, for as far as I have been able to tell thus far, and it puts that lovely cherry they call extensive crafting systems on top.

Loving FO4 so far :)

What GTA V or Windows? Applications can't create pagefiles, only Windows Memory Management can do that.
Applications don't even know about the PF.

You can't have disabled it properly, did you look into my My Computer/Properties/Advanced? then tick the "no page file" option and click set?

Try again.... if u want.

Does not run well on my system. I average 50-75fps, with occasional spikes to around 90. This is indoors and out.
I followed the Nvidia performance guide(merely as it's very in-depth and useful). While I learned a lot, amending most settings does very little. There's certainly no game changer that helps me net a significant amount of frames.

I figured I could at least hold 80+ consistently outside and 96+ indoors.

Maybe it's worth waiting a few months for driver updates and game patches?

Yes I did that exactly... And I understand that GTA V itself is not creating the page file, but still even with the page file completely disabled, Afterburner is still showing a pagefile being utilized. If I remember right, it even gives you an error saying that no page file is set up, and that a temporary one will be created/used.

From what I understand you don't really want to go over 60fps anyway because of engine. The faster the fps the faster the game goes.
