Why is nearly everytime they try something like gameworks it always runs like shit, can't they do that sort of effects native in the game engine? Crappy wind effects with physx in Asylum and crappy hair growing in Witcher 3 that doesn't work properly, crappy rain and smoke effects in Arkham Knight that tank the frame rate to almost unplayable.

The thing is, there isn't really anything in this game that wasn't in the original. All of these visual effects were present in the first two games, you just didn't have the level of control over them that you do now. You can turn them off individually now, before you just had a PhysX setting that was off, low, medium, and high.

Even turning them all off doesn't help performance in any great amount, the game still runs like shit. So this isn't a Gameworks issue. This is just an issue of Rocksteady farming out the PC port to an inexperienced development company and then not giving them anywhere near the time they needed to do the port.

Hairworks in Witcher 3 was way overdone by the developer. Applying MSAAx16 and maximum tessellation just to the hair is stupid. Hairworks, on the other hand, worked fine in FarCry4. I still turned it off because I didn't like how it looked, but it didn't kill performance like it did in Witcher 3.

Only runs well on PS4, PS4 gets bonus content, Dualshock 4 is default gamepad shown.

I smell a backdoor deal with Sony here. Looks like WB sold out. Could have been partly why the porting was messed up too. Yeah both PS4 and Xone are X86 now, but rarely do we see ports made from PS to PC.

NVidia are sending engineers and QA teams to Warner Bros./Rocksteady to help them with the port patches. No word on AMD yet, as their hardware is the stuff the game struggles most with (Note: this is not due to Gameworks. Performance without Gameworks settings is still dire). With any luck, PC users will at least get some overall performance improving patches relatively soon.

I never said that physx was the sole problem, i was merely saying that players have had massive performance issues with frame rates tanking with for example smoke effects on. Do people not remember the physx performance issues at launch with City and even Asylum? Why should i need a separate graphics card dedicated to physx or a top end nvidia card to run these extras when other games have some similar effects in the in game engine?

Enough of my physx gripes, i don't want to go beyond the scope of the thread topic.

Turbulence though (interactive smoke/fog) IS a PhysX feature.

Allready an update (27/6, haven't play it with the new update, got it a few min ago)

Rocksteady is leading our team of developers and partners as we work on the PC performance issues that players have been encountering. The work is significant and while we are making good progress on improving performance, it will take some time to ensure that we get the right fixes in place.

Below is the list of the key areas where we are dedicating our resources to improve the experience for our loyal fans:
  • Support for frame rates above 30FPS in the graphics settings menu
  • Fix for low resolution texture bug
  • Improve overall performance and framerate hitches
  • Add more options to the graphics settings menu
  • Improvements to hard drive streaming and hitches
  • Address full screen rendering bug on gaming laptops
  • Improvements to system memory and VRAM usage
  • NVIDIA SLI bug fixes
  • Enabling AMD Crossfire
  • NVIDIA and AMD updated drivers
While we work on improving performance, we will also continue to make interim patches available to address issues for those still playing the game on PC. The first patch is being released now and the updates include:
  • Fixed a crash that was happening for some users when exiting the game
  • Fixed a bug which disabled rain effects and ambient occlusion. We are actively looking into fixing other bugs to improve this further
  • Corrected an issue that was causing Steam to re-download the game when verifying the integrity of the game cache through the Steam client
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash when turning off Motion Blur in BmSystemSettings.ini. A future patch will enable this in the graphics settings menu
We would like to thank our fans for their patience and invaluable feedback. We will continue to monitor and listen for any additional issues.



SO what are people gonna notice when they now start playing batman arkham knight after the update? (as i started to say/write in the begining, i got the update today and havn't played it yet)

OK, so despite the game runs at 12FPS in the bat-tank, I've been pleasantly surprised at how fun the game is so far. It's not a map-cleanup-detail like City and Oranges, and overall it's got lots of new decent content. There is however one enormous problem I have with the game

OK, so despite the game runs at 12FPS in the bat-tank, I've been pleasantly surprised at how fun the game is so far. It's not a map-cleanup-detail like City and Oranges, and overall it's got lots of new decent content. There is however one enormous problem I have with the game

The gameplay itself gets a 10/10 its just awesome to do things with the batmobile .

But and i need some other SLI user to confirm Nvidia pushed the driver update with SLI porifle.
With SLI Enabled i get LESS FPS then with just one single card anyone else can report the same ?

Until they get SLI working, one user claimed setting PhysX to run on the CPU enables it to work with much better performance, like 60% or more GPU usage on each card. Still not perfect, but better supposedly. This however means two of the Nvidia features won't work, though I forgot which ones.

Until they get SLI working, one user claimed setting PhysX to run on the CPU enables it to work with much better performance, like 60% or more GPU usage on each card. Still not perfect, but better supposedly. This however means two of the Nvidia features won't work, though I forgot which ones.

Batman: Arkham Knight November DLC Content Available Beginning Today – Includes 2016 Batman v Superman Batmobile Pack and Two New Arkham Episodes

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment announced the next series of add-ons for Batman™: Arkham Knight. The latest update includes the free 2016 Batman v Superman Batmobile Pack, and will be available beginning today for fans who have purchased the Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, or PC, and are connected to the Internet. The content can also be purchased separately beginning today on the PlayStation®Network, Xbox LIVE online entertainment network from Microsoft and STEAM.

Season Pass holders receive early access to the 2016 Batman v. Superman Batmobile Pack, which includes the Batsuit and Batmobile from the highly anticipated Warner Bros. Pictures film “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Owners of the game who do not have the Season Pass can download the pack beginning 1st December.

Also available today are two new Arkham Episodes, which give players the ability to control two of Gotham City’s most well-known characters, Catwoman and Robin. Catwoman’s Revenge takes place after the events of Batman: Arkham Knight and puts players under the cover of darkness as they seek revenge on the Riddler. Flip of a Coin lets players take control of Robin as he looks to take down Two-Face’s lucrative money laundering operation. Both Arkham Episodes also include two AR challenge maps.

Additional downloadable content available today:
  • Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #4: Get this Crime Fighter Challenge Pack to receive various challenge and invisible predator maps featuring Batman, Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman and Azrael. This expansive challenge pack allows focused training in Freeflow Combat and Invisible Predator stealth incursion.
  • Arkham Episodes AR Challenges: a collection of six new AR challenges including Freeflow Combat and Invisible Predator, taking place in environments from the Arkham Episodes GCPD Lockdown, Catwoman’s Revenge, and Flip of a Coin.
  • WayneTech Track Pack: Test your skills behind the wheel with these two cutting edge WayneTech themed racetracks.
  • Robin and Batmobile Skins Packs: Get this Robin and Batmobile skins pack to don the Original Tim Drake Robin costume and speed through Gotham City with the Robin Themed Batmobile Skin.

@wolfaust I appreciate the heads up on the DLC work you did! I think I may have to get it, since I'm one of the lucky ones that AK actually runs smoothly for!

Also, a 1GB patch was issued yesterday with quite a few fixes.
