My Merlin came with my LTI Constellation. I love flying the Merlin, but the gatling cannon goes through ammo quite quickly. Having an Archimedes would allow me to swap between the two snub-fighters while in my hangar depending on the situation; having a quicker Merlin that has 4(!) CF007 Bulldogs equipped could be nice for the longer battles so that ammo is not a concern. Plus, I feel like if I get an Archimedes, I'll have a small racing ship to go alongside the 350R and I won't keep eyeing up the M50...
I dunno... Somebody needs to talk me out of buying one. It would be my 11th ship, 9th that I still own (gave my 300i package and Aurora LN package away to a couple of friends).

Couldn't help myself. I picked up an Archimedes.
It's not hangar-ready, but I still have a slot ready for it in my asteroid hangar.
And now I think I'm finally done buying ships before launch. Maybe.

for the price of the archimedes .... it would be wrong to not take a LTI

Yeah, was mouse and keyboard. It's a bit buggy so sessions only last so long before I crash. Latest patch is much better!

So can you give me some feedback on that versus your flight stick and controller?

I was gonna borrow a Steam controller again and see if I could bind it to this game...but after watching your vid...I feel tempted to put everything aside and go KB +Mouse for a run and see if I can make it work out in my favor.

If you're using a ship with gimbaled weapons, m+kb is great. Without gimbals... it's okay. You just want to hit Ctrl+C to lock everything forward but the control isn't as nice. Personally if I'm using a ship with no gimbals I prefer a controller/joystick as you rely more on ship control than gimbal control.

Soooo I'm all giddy like a little school girl right now! My Black/Friday items have gotten in and it's time for a PC upgrade! Haven't done my own pc since Jan of 2009! Waiting on i7 to come back in stock and lower$$$
Now I will be able to play this game!
My biggest question is how big is the game from a fresh DL? As I haven't been following for a long time now. DL speed is 128kbps

i knew i could not resist ... not after getting a unexpected income saturday ...

bought a 2nd Archimedes, upgraded the 1st one to a 325A since upgrades retain the LTI status (i wanted a LTI 325A ... ) upgraded the retaliator base LTI to a bomber variant and my never settle pack to a Constellation Andromeda (not LTI but now i have a Merlin again ... )

thinking about buying some Archimedes LTI package to convert them to other ships for LTI ... dunno it seems better than buying just the standalone variant

hufff i need to read patchnote more often ... i didn't know planetside was up ... it has a little mass effect vibe, dirty human "factory world" not Asari or other "cleaner" type :laugh:

ok ... i have a sever issue ... (oh at last i kept my LTI Tali ...) doing some stranges moves ... (aka: what i told before ... buying several Archimedes LTI pack and upgrading them for other ships, still have an Archimedes aside my count is 6 package: 5 upgraded 1 stock )

so i thought multi crew ship are not really for me ... then a Constellation hold no real utility (the Tali is an exception ... )

collection "almost definitive" (tm) :laugh:

300 serie (315P 325A 350R) Mustang (Alpha and Delta) and Merlin (planing to get a 3rd Mustang, probably a Gamma, and put the Merlin with the Archimedes once "hangar ready ) and Gladius

a pure beauty indeed ...

and i sorted the issue of the VTOL pod disappearing, in fact it only does it in the R&Y hangar ... oh well VFG is good enough (who knew that such a beauty would be picky and choose a space rock carved cave instead of a luxury hangar ...

)

Hmm... I want more ships!! I'm broke... I do have the 325A fighter (with the crappy stock cannon and so-so laser...) and the Aurora MR all stock as well.

I haven't played enough yet to even know much about upgrades...but could use a little guidance here. I keep seeing you buy more ships...and while I'd love to, dunno if I can swing it budget-wise atm.

Maybe I'd be better off doing weapons upgrades?
