Well, im confused.

I use Systool to monitor my CPU temperatures, which i thought were correct, until i downloaded Speedfan... I read the pinned C2D temperature guide above but it really does go over my head, my computer knowledge does not reach out that far.

So, which tool (If any) is presenting the correct temperatures of my CPU and should i be worried? These are all Idle temps.

Appreciate all the help!

Thanks,

Hux.

EDIT: Sorry, attached picture, it wasnt working!

Hmm, well i did a little research on TAT, as you say it is Intel so it must be producing the correct readings.

What C2D you using and what temps does it run at on idle?

Would you say mine were good?

Wow, what's impressive is how your fan seems to be at 1,350,000RPM. How'd you cope with the noise? :p

Ah thankyou matey, i feel better now! :)

By the way, is there any way to get TAT or SpeedFan to monitor your temps in the tray icon so i can monitor it always without the program open?

Speedfan does.
I think it's enabled by default, so check your sys tray, because I can't seem to find any options for it at the moment, might have missed it though.

Should show up in the tray now... unless there's something wrong... heh

Just noticed that my CPU is currently at 44*c :twitch: and my NB temp is at 70*c
Me thinks I need mroe cooling... anyhu, that's enough outta me...

I think Speedfan tends to sometimes give erratic readings, earlier it said my CPU was at 50% load while just sitting at desktop, it was also reporting random temps which weren't correct.

Anyway, thankyou very much for ya help mate and good luck with your troubles! Although i may not be much help, let me know if ya need it!

Thanks again,

Hux.

That is your core temp. It runs hotter than your cpu temp. For C2D, that is still within spec, but barely. 65 is "warm" and 70 is "hot". I only run in the mid to upper 40's under 100% load on my 6420 OC'd to 3.45 on 1.45v. You need better cooling and some AS5. You have NO chance of OCing if that's what you're getting for stock.

Yes, but Systool was also reporting my C2D at 100*C idle. ;)

If you dont think Speedfan is reliable then use Thermal Analysis Tool (Intel). Either way, it gives me the same readings as Speedfan so they must be right.
