I liked all of them, but I think I enjoyed Crysis 3 the most. The soundfiles + files you could read, the game design, the bow, it was really a well rounded game. I even played it 2 times. I tried to play Crysis a few months ago and I quickly noticed how bad the controls are compared to Crysis 2 and 3, but it's still a nice game, nevertheless.

btw. I thought the story has ended with Crysis 3, but they could always let the Ceph attack again. But I'm not sure if this would make for a good story at all.

EA takes all of the profits and even they aren't in a position to bail Crytek out.

Crytek is working on four titles right now: Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age (free to play), Arena of Fate (free to play), The Climb (Occulus VR), and Robinson: The Journey (PlayStation VR).

My crysis1 looks so good it's not even funny.
I may even revisit and add some ENB or sweetfx :O
Don't forget Warhead.
I used to use that to test GPU overclocks..
If it makes it past the "flashback" you're good.

Maybe. Speed/Strength is auto-on in Crysis 3, that's why I said I like the controls more than compared to 1. The Armor change option is still there afaik, but I didn't use it because it's way too slow compared to just pressing Q for armor or E for stealth. The weapon customization menu is still there btw. I think it's on X or C.

The first game and Warhead were the best. 2 and 3 were still great games. Good mechanics, graphics. Just not as good as the first. Much more simplified. 3 is still one of the best looking games.

Edit: and just started playing it an 15 minutes in get sound loop freezing crash. Fucking cpu/memory issues.

I remember cryengine was very sensitive to CPU OC. Good stability test. Btw I have bought Ryse too. Haven't gone past the first siege... dunno, maybe someday.

Gameplay wise, it doesn't grab me. Ive not gotten far either. Oh well.

Crysis 1 ran on too few computers so sold poorly, despite a massive following.

It actually ran fine on lots of systems if you scaled back the settings. I played the MP beta on 1280x1024 on High on my overclocked Athlon 3000+ and x1950 Pro. An overclocked mid range card and an overclocked low end CPU on a very common solution in those days and it ran the most joked about game perfectly fine on high settings. It was first when you upped the settings to Holy Shit nothing could play it.

And really, high setting look fantastic in there anyway, so there was little reason to run totally max settings except epeen.

Same here I ran it on a 7800GS and Athlon 64 3000+. It scaled very well for a game of it's time.

Honestly as a shooter, Crysis wasn't all that special; just on rails FPS with extremely linear story and progression like there have been hundreds of. The most impressive part of Crysis to me was its physics engine, and at its release, the graphics were of course stunning. Crysis 2/3 didn't change anything about that, except the far more conservative use of physics as a game element. It's a shame really, I think the big problem with Crysis is the absence of a good multiplayer - it never elevated itself to a replayable game like CoD, even though it has all the ingredients for it. Look at CoD:AW...

Actually, 1) you totally forgot about the armor thing, that made Crysis unique, also 2) the KI was very intelligent. All in all, it was a very hard and well made game with some innovations here and there.

I enjoyed all three (and Warhead). Played quite a lot of 2 and 3 multiplayer and enjoyed the fast rounds.
I would say that Crysis was the best out of them all, but a lot of that is based on it was such an advancement in gaming as far as destructible environment and a pretty open environment. Should I go this way or that way? Over the land or swim around?
Far Cry is where it all started...

I was getting moronic sound looping in Crysis 2 as well. In one mission I had to listen to enemy soldiers yelling even though there was no one around. It seems thi sis inherent bug in all CryEngine games...

I think the reason I like Crysis 3 the most is because of the environement. I'm a sucker for post-apocalypse stuff, and the overgrown ruins of a destroyed New Yorl City are very well done. It reminds me of Enslaved: Odyssey to The West, which also spent the first half of the game in the same environment in NYC.
