Problem with USB flash drive

Hi there,

I bought a SanDisk Cruzer 32 GB flash drive and wanted to transfer a movie to it. The movie is in HD format and has about 4.5 GB, so it should easily fit on the flash drive.
Well, every time I've tried to copy the movie it says that the file is too large and there's not enough space on the flash drive. I tried the same thing with a couple of other movies and the same dialog box kept popping.
Do you have any idea what should I do?

Format it as NTFS. Fat32 only supports files up to ~4GB.

Thank you. I didn't know I should that.

I scratched my head about it a few months back, because I haven't used FAT32 in a very long time. Then I thought about file systems and how FAT32 is ... 32bit ie can only adress up to 2^32 bits IE about 4GB.

Just formatted the flash drive as NTFS, then copied the movie. Works beautifully!
Thanks a lot.

The only issue with NTFS is if going to use flash drive in a car radio(mps3's) or Dvd player , they don't normally support NTFS otherwise it is the best option .Just so you know :)

Thanks for the info :). I intend on using the flash drive strictly to watch movies. I stick it in my tv and that's it.

IMO, NTFS isn't the best option for removable media like flash drives. Instead exFAT is the better option.

Yeah exFAT is the way to go. It still won't be compatible with devices that require FAT or FAT32, but you're more likely to find an exFAT compatible device than NTFS.
