Swiftech to Launch Custom Water Block for AMD's RX 480

Rouchon Industries Inc., dba Swiftech, is reportedly bringing to market a custom water block for AMD's RX 480. According to reddit user CBwardog, who spoke with a company representative, the water block is expected to come in an Acetal + Nickel package, bearing a price-tag of $99.95. No official announcement from Swiftech at this time, though it is expected that the water block will become available for sale to end-users worldwide through the usual channels in a mere three weeks.

Stop double standards, all RX 480 are beautiful...

Seriously though, there are (understandably) no pictures as of yet. Those are from a Fury X. So they're both branding and thematically correct

No news at this time about that; but judging from the company representative's remarks about "hitting the lowest price possible" with $99.50 and considering the average price for a water block on Swiftech's site is about $130... I'll make an uninformed wager that it is indeed bought separately. But take that with a truckload of salt. It's speculative inference, nothing more.

Preferred Swiftech's blocks when they had their industrial look (like the Hydrocopper GTX780) now they just look like any other plexi block

....I know this will help with heat and noise...but how much more performance is this gonna squeeze out? Water cooling a $250 card seems equivalent to putting those little fans on top of memory(yeah I once did that too).

In a cramped mATX or mITX it makes sense as you can carve out space doing that and puting CPU and GPU un the same small loop...

Seconds modern cards are really pushed to the max already with rather complex boost algos... keeping them cool ensures them running on max factory clock.

If you're going to pay $100 for a waterblock, just go buy a GTX1070, run it at stock, and enjoy better performance than you'll ever get with an RX 480...and less heat, and significantly less power consumption...

Agree on this one. I suppose I could see the argument if you have extra money and are super-noise averse. But the current gen fans on both amd/nv sides due to lower power+heat aren't very loud already. And performance wise it really makes no sense since for a 480+$100 water block you can get a much (much) faster 1070. I'm not even sure a wb on a 480 is great from an aesthetics point of view since the nice looks are offset by the pointlessness of it. It would be like water blocking a Celeron CPU instead of just buying a i5/i7, or like putting a racing muffler on a Kia.
