Cooler Master celebrated 25 years of excellence recently, and took to the Computex 2017 stage to announce the much awaited successor to the Cosmos line of PC cases. The new Cosmos C700P is a concept case of their re-imagining of the Cosmos line of premium cases, and takes on the DNA of Cooler Master's Master Concept 2.0 modularity - the motherboard tray itself is removable for increased comfort in putting your rig together, and they even give you the possibility to invert the motherboard tray.

The handlebar design remains, with recessed LED lighting to give it that supernatural hue. The glass used in the panels is slightly curved, not a straight slab as is usual, and the case makes use of aluminum materials to add to its richness. This one is quite a looker, isn't it?

Oh my god, removable and invertable motherboard tray. CM totally didn't already do this a decade ago with the 2004 Stacker and 2006 Stacker 830.

In other news, everything old is new again.

I am supposing the aim of this case is to utilize industry icon design cues for instant brand recognition whilst adding all the major design features of today's cases (and more).

I think Coolermaster have done a great job of representing a style that made the company great.

Coolermaster is one of the pioneers of quality aesthetic cases (eg, Centurion) and are one of the few around today with lines that don`t look out of style

..I like it.

My old case has a removable tray, and it is also hinged so it can swing out once the side panel is removed and a latch released, this is an old idea, but functional.
On closer inspection I was disappointed to see the recessed LED lights on top facing up from the case, under the handles, and not recessed in to the actual handles facing down, surely this wouldn't have been hard to achieve.

It's not mentioned but it looks to use a lot of plastic exterior panels. If not, and that's all aluminum, color me impressed.

Still a beauty of a case either way.
